Mountain Home, By Smalltown Mike

I’ve got a mountain home to get away from it all,
a moosehead on the wall and no phone calls
In my mountain home I cook and kill my own food
And if it suits the mood I walk around nude

Can’t stand the city fuck the city don’t need it no way
Can’t stand the city fuck the city don’t need I’m going away

I’ve got a mountain home for writing fucked up poems
and my manifesto—smoking homegrown
In my mountain home I’m coming up with solutions
To the scum and pollution—My own revolution

Can’t stand the city fuck the city don’t need it no way
Can’t stand the city fuck the city don’t need I’m going away
to my mountain home

Na na hey hey do do

And I’m a mountain man I’m all covered in dirt
I wear a lumberjack shirt and kick around in my pink skirt

Can’t stand the city fuck the city don’t need it no way
Can’t stand the city fuck the city don’t need I’m going awayto my mountain home

Mountain Home

By Steve Durand

I was brought up in the Smoky Mountains
A country boy from eastern Tennessee
And even though I may no longer live there
You can't take the mountains out of me

At times I reminisce about my childhood
Life was so simple and sublime
That's where I learned life's early lessons
I am a product of that happy time

That humble mountain home is my foundation
The root of everything I've grown to be
And 'though I'm far away
Wherever I might stray
My mountain home will be a part of me

I packed up my bags and moved to Nashville
Trying to pursue the golden ring
I set sail seeking fame and fortune
Hoping folks would want to hear me sing

I settled for a while in New York City
Trying to achieve some small renown
But I've moved on 'cause I keep getting restless
I'm always on the move from town to town

Everywhere I go there is one constant
That travels with me everywhere I roam
And all across the land
No matter where I stand
My heart will still be in my mountain home

When I get to feeling I'm defeated
I harken back to where I got my start
And I realize I blessed
'Till the day I'm laid to rest
My mountain home will still possess my heart

Come to
My mountain home
It's on a mountain
It's on a mountian

Come to
My mountain home
A do le do do
Do do le do

Well my home's on a mountain
There's no fountain
My neighbour to the left is a very good accountant
There's lots of grass
There's also some trees
There's never any snow but I still wear skis
My home's on a mountain
Sometimes I roll down it
I broke my fuckin' face
But it was fuckin' worth it
You can't roll down your mountain
Because you silly bastard
You haven't even got one

Come to
My mountain home
It's on a mountain
It's on a mountian

Come to
My mountain home
A do le do do
Do do le do

in my mountain home
i can sit around and strum
i can sit arond all day
because i'm free

in my mountain home
i can do just what i want
i can be the kind of guy
i want to be

imaginary mountain
imaginary home
i never was mountain man at all

in my mountain home
when kinfolk come to call
they all stretch out their arns
and welcome me

in my mountain home
we all sit around the fire
telling tales of how it
used to be

imaginary friends
imaginary home
i never knew anyone like that at all

in my mountain home
there's a letter from a girl
who i knew when i went
across the sea

in my mountain home
there's a sad song to remind me
of love so strong but
never meant to be

imaginary girl
imaginary home and
i know i never went across the sea
