Who would be interested in doing a Songfight Presents concert in either New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania?

Me. There's a venue around here that would work well. Big enough, yet small enough. Has a proper stage and everything.

What's the time frame for this? After September or so I may be a north-east coaster.

Depending on where and when...but I'm interested.

Ditto. It'd be a long drive, but crazier things have happened.

Well obviously if Bjam is in I am in. I have an 8 channel Yamaha PA and speakers and I guess between us we could scrounge enough mics for what we need.

If it were not here in the PA burbs, I am sure that (work commitments allowing) we'd be able to drive my huge ass truck anywhere in the NY/NJ/PA metroplex.

I should clarify, if it's in NY I am IN. Otherwise, I am perhaps in with some serious thought involved.

If it is in the greater Philly area, I might be able to talk my office into an business trip... even if just to provide an audience.

The venue I was thinking about is The Saturday Club. It's a nice place. Dunno how much it is to rent. A lot of kids around here play there, so it can't be that much. It's 30 minutes from Philly, 2 hoursish from NYC, and an hourish from Lancaster. There's a few buses that travel from NYC to Philly roundtrip for $20-30 if you don't/can't drive.

Not sure if that would work for everyone of course. But it's a suggestion

It's close enough for a (realistic) road trip. I'd almost certainly come down even just to be in the audience; might even be able to talk the band into a performance if y'all don't mind a non-songfight! show.

Wayne, PA? Wow, that's close to where I was this last year, we went to our friends' wedding in Blue Bell. That's not very far. My wife favors this idea.

What kind of dates do you think this would be? Spring? Summer? Anytime near SFL Santa Cruz could get kinda eh. And then if we wait too long I'd forget about it. Opinions?

But you could do a live aid thing and have them ON THE SAME DAY! I am sure that FBF and JB could hop on a plane, Phil Collins style ...

That's pretty funny.

The problem, bjam, is that this is turning into an EVENT. From what i've seen of the west coast shows, it's just been like five bands so the show doesn't compete with the large annual event and everyone gets to play a lot more. I would suggest you just schedule a date and see who can commit to that date. And then try to get an audience there--that would really set it apart from the annual summer show. ;)

Well sure, but I don't want to be all "So hey, first weekend in May" and then nobody can come. If people even want it to be around here. Anyone got other suggestions? Places, dates, whatever?

Frankie is right. Luckily we have a handful of bands out here so we just coordinate amongst ourselves and then see who else can show up. You kind of have to have that "if we build it they will come" attitude. Find a few folks who can commit to a date and then see who else shows up.

I think you should shoot for March. That gives anyone who's serious enough time to get a set together and you enough time to advertise, etc. Maybe we'll even avoid snow. Why wouldn't people want to "be around (t)here"? Everyone who's responded has been enthusiastic so don't go getting all gloomy gus on us! (whatever that means)

If it makes you feel better, I'll start. I can do it February 24, 25, March 3, 4, 17, 18, April 1, 15, 28.

Snow. Ha. That's funny. This has been a lame snow year in NJ.

I'd be okay for a weekend in March, except the 18th (The 7th wedding anniversary is the 17th).
