i was trying to install a gadget to allow us to hide avatars. it failed. i removed it. maybe i'll try something else, but late at night when nobody's surfing.

yeah...well your time is limited then cause if it's anything like the old boards, you'll be hard pressed to find a time when nobody is around!

....although right at the moment it's hard to say....

i'm not sure what's going on but when i visit the main forum i see all the places with new posts highlighted. then when i click on one none of the threads with new posts are higlighted. and then when i go back to the main part of the forum, all of the other sections with new posts are no longer highlighted.

maybe somebody already posted about this, but i wouldn't know because i don't know where the new posts are.

as noted on the complaints thread, i did make a change to the cookie settings. previously, i noticed that my cookies had a cookie from both "songfight.net" and "www.songfight.net"-- i specified the msg board cookie to be "www.songfight.net" in hopes that it would clear up any redundancy or confusion that browsers may have been experiencing. so perhaps this is a sign that it was effective at alleviating this issue.

if i can't replicate it, i can't fix it, I'm just not seeing this behavior. If someone wants to investigate and give me some more details as to when and to whome this happens, maybe I can do something. I just don't have a lot of time to do a lot of experimentation on this.

I get the same thing as fodroy. I'm running a mac G4 with 9.02 and using explorer 5.1 (if it helps).
You arrive at the forum, various icons blink at you. Go a level deeper then come back to the main page and the icons are all unblinking and static.
I would think it's got to be a cookie thing... But it's just a guess.
I'll try it on the pc. It's no big deal anyway.

if you haven't lately, i suggest clearing your cookies, or at least deleting all the cookies from songfight.net and http://www.songfight.net. if you do that, let me know if you're still seeing this problem.

Nope.

Now it is broken for me. For the first time, today I have to log in twice, and the green/blue icons indicating new posts no longer work.

*sniff

edit - never mind I cleared my old stale cookies, and the new ones seem to be much more yummy.

layout broken
