April Morning, With A Peach

E Equals

I...............
Take this fruit from the vine
And give it to you, my lover
Just don't
Please don't
I'm telling you
Don't
Spit it out this time

Well, I'm sorry dear
That the lemon puckered your lips
Oh
And I deeply regret
The peach juice that lingers
On your fingertips
What a drip
Oh
What a drip

But you've got to understand
That there's nothing in the land
That will satisfy you
And your most exquisite taste

I.........
Understand in my mind
That this problem is all mine
For when I find a fruit
That doesn't stain your blouse
Or leaves seeds caught in your mouth
Or is much too big too fit
Or is gone in just one bite
Or spoils overnight
Or is always just too ripe
Or stings the cuts on your fingers
All while tasting oh, so bitter

I know you won't be pleased
I know you won't be pleased
'Cause when you ask for fruit
That is pungent, ripe, and sweet
Won't get stuck in the car seat
Yet is dainty and petite
It won't attract flies
And won't tell you no lies

What you want is
(I...............
Take this fruit from the vine)
What you need is
A different version of me

Just don't
Please don't
Baby don't
Spit it out this time

What a drip
Oh
What a drip

What a drip
Oh
What a drip

april morning with a peach
words and music by brody

67 miles away
haven't got a word to say
taco joint is smellin fine
wish i only had the time

cars in front and cars behind
piled up to watch the line
shame i got to break on through
but time does what it wants to do

april morning with a peach
april morning with a peach
april morning with a peach
april morning with a peach

davenport is smellin sweet
life is just across the street
ditch my shoes and feel the sand
and reach so i could find your hand

april morning with a peach
april morning with a peach
april morning with a peach
april morning with a peach

I'm not going to use those other lyrics actually. I decided to write some new ones.

E Equals

I cannot see another day with you
For though you may be satisfied
Tomorrow, a day
Or later away
It really don't matter
'Cause you don't hear what I want

Lover dearest, I ask you questions
Which you answer, hesitantly
Completely ignoring what relates to
You and me

I called you last night
You didn't want to talk
And I didn't want to keep fighting
Clearly reminds of me of that April morning, reaching back
Not so long ago

Do you remember
When I took your hand,
And said I'd do anything
All across this amazing land
Oh yes I did

But you exploited my kindness
I called you Your Highness
You sent me away
To the peach groves
Where I shall stay

Looking for nothing
But a fruit, a beautiful
Specimen, but despite its
Perfection is nothing to sneeze at
For it will be gone
In a day or two

My quest still continues
But I intimate to you
All that I want is to
Stay here, and challenge this dreadful fate
With you

For I know if I don't leave
Soon it will be too late

And if we waste away
Faster than the peach spoils
On the vine

And what about all
The plans that we had

And what will you do
When your cherished fruit
Is all gone
What then?

I cannot see another day with you
For though you may be satisfied
Tomorrow, a day
Or later away
It really don't matter
'Cause you don't hear what I want
To
Hear what I want to
You don't hear what I want to
Say

You get a lot
You take it all
But that's not my concern
Why won't I learn?

The fruit from the vine,
It ain't yours, and it ain't mine
It belongs to the trees that made it
And yes I know you must really hate it

When my desgination of queen
Does not seem to be in line with what I mean

But trust me honey, the title still stands
I just cannot bear with you
And all your demands
For a fleeting, cheap object
That will not fulfill you
For more than a day

And that's all I want to
That's all I want
Ooh - but you still see a peach

But beyond that it's me
And I'm begging you please
That you'll see what I mean

I hope that you will understand
That it's either this ripe, juicy, beautiful peach
In my hands
You can have all you want

But if you do baby
Don't take the man

Bait for the lyric burglar?

Not intentionally. But the lyric burglar or anyone else is allowed to use the first set of lyrics I posted. But not the second ones, unless it's just a part of them (too damn long!). I am going to spend a good amount of time writing one more set of lyrics, this time making it a catchy song as opposed to an obscure poem.

Okay, here are the final lyrics....

E Equals

Today is the day
For all the little children
To go and play
In the peach groves
Where our love grows
And nobody knows
What life will bring

April morning
April morning
April morning with a peach
April morning
April morning
Seems so out of reach
And the trees, they never age
They only return for the spring
But what memories
And promises they bring

Today is the day
For all the grown-up lovers
To break apart
In a court of law
Where our love fades
And everybody knows
What plans are made

April morning
April morning
April morning with a peach
April morning
April morning
Won't try to beseech

But the trees, they never age
They only return for the spring

But it seems our loves fades
From the most typical things

April morning
April morning
April morning
April morning

April morning
Take it....
Take it away

"April Morning, With a Peach"

april morning, clock flashed 1:23 am
gorby sat hands shaking, the death of 30 men
thought about calling his wife, he'd let her sleep
in his lap sat, the last russian peach

the fuel ruptured, reacting with H20
a steam explosion, the entire thing will blow
a 20 mile radius, radiation in your home
a disaster and a cause was not using the telephone

the birthrate will decrease, babies born with cancer
name our new town after personnel, that's the answer

upset the economy, 24 rods too few
trauma of evacuation, concern that they were put through
in a state of unrest, anxiety saturation
now seperate countries burdened with decontamination

thought about calling his wife, he'd let her sleep
in his lap sat, the last russian peach

April Morning, with a Peach
by WreckdoM

Sunset
With a glass of bourbon
Front porch
Spring breeze whispers all around
A Cigar
And another glass of bourbon
Sundown
Lightning Bugs surround the trees

God dammit it’s good to be alive
Good to have a front lawn where that I can sing songs
God dammit it’s good to be alive
Good to have my flow on good to have it goin’ on
Alright, Alright

Sunrise
April morning, with a peach
And Waffles
Stretching out on the couch
Hot coffee
Cream and sugar, and some bourbon
Sunbeams
Are greeted with a smile

God dammit it’s good to be alive
Good for me to take time so’s that I can waste time
God dammit it’s good to be alive
Doin’ what feels right out in the sunlight
God dammit it’s good to be alive
Good to have a front lawn where that I can sing songs
God dammit it’s good to be alive
Good to have my flow on good to have it goin’ on
Alright, Alright
Alright, Alright

April Morning, with a peach
Smalltown Mike w/ the Almighty Leaf kicking a solo

(Peach fuzz on the tip of my tongue.
And I was young, so young, so young.)

You want to talk about the facts, go way back
to the white noise on the tv screen
where it was all about me—I think you know what I mean.
And we should never have kissed; I should have missed you by
a year. You’re not supposed to be here.

(chorus)
April Morning, with a peach in my eyes
Blues skies and the rising sun
And I was young so young
Peach fuzz on the the tip of my tongue X 2

Do you think I don’t know it was a long time ago?
I don’t pine for another time. (It’s over and done.)
I’m not lonely. I’m not the only one
with peach fuzz on the tip of my tongue.

(chorus)

Back when I was living on lemon gin and cigarettes,
I met my share of women poets.
I did my part to win their hearts—I put them all in verse.
That’s bad enough—let me tell you what’s worse
is that it got me no where. Soon no women could be
found around me. (You’re not supposed to be here.)
But you would be wrong for guessing
it was then I learned my lesson.
Now every spring it’s the same thing.
Years and years and years and it’s the same thing.
And every time I eat a peach, it’s the same thing.
Peach fuzz on my tongue and I was young.

(chorus)

April Morning, With a Peach
(lyrics by Justin Combustion)

She wants to learn how to tango, and dance on the balcony
Just like she saw the other day in that old movie
Well, I can't tango, but I think I can toxic waltz
If I step on your toes it is all my fault

Why can't this world let us be?
April morning laying here with my peach
She said "Stay here, keep me company"
So said she
Said it to me
So said she
Said it to me
So said she

Well I can learn how to tango
and lay in bed eating mangos
and making the bed go "bango"
But the phone rings
the phone rings
the phone rings
the phone rings

Why can't the world let us be?
April morning laying here with my peach
She said "Stay here, keep me company"
So said she
Said it to me
So said she
Said it to me
So said she
Said it to me

(solo)

Why can't the world let us be?
April morning laying here with my peach
She said "Stay here, keep me company"
So said she
She said it to me
So said she
Said it to me
So said she

She wants to learn how to tango, and dance on the balcony
