Gig Night

Alright, I'm home from a gig, it's close to 3 am, no one is awake and I'm chock full of adrenaline. I can't really work on writing so much because my fingers are sore from playing. It's too late for working on mixing stuff because the family is sleeping. I'm feeling like I can conquer the world, but just tired enough not to try.

Any suggestions? Does anyone else come home from playing feeling like this? I always need to unwind after I play, but I feel guilty about not really accomplishing anything with the time and energy I have on my hands.

What do you guys/gals feel like after a gig?

EDITMy wife has to work tomorrow so the obvious solution is out of the question. Tomorrow night though.......I won't be doing this that's for sure.

What you describe is more like my feeling after seeing a great show. After a gig I'm mostly just tired and sore from all the heavy lifting that comes afterwards.

Yes - it's been over 15 years since I played in a proper band - I forgot that stuff. Nowdays I just do occasional "Muso Jam Nights" at pubs and only carry my guitar. Caravan Ray does not heavy lift.

Yeah I should have been a little more specific. This is a 2 nighter, so the equipment stayed there last night and the bar provides the P.A. so there's quite a bit less lifting involved.

Yeah, this was the other obvious road.

And I chose it.

Now I'm off to the beer thread.

I drums in front of people all the time, but I have only had about one real concert, and I felt just like you. It was a crazy concert, probably the most magical night of my life, and when we finished, we watched a kung fu movie and ate a lot. I really don't have enough experience to offer advice, but I'm just saying you're not alone in those feelings when you're done a concert.

I usually get some pizza. I generally hate myself after gigs and get pretty down.
