on thing about my recording is that the vocals are kinda queit..I did them in a rush to meet the deadline....so I didn't have the time to properly increase the vocals.....so eventually I'll re-record and do it right...but at least basket gets the general idea.

If anyone is wondering why I didn't submit a song for this week's fight even though I posted lyrics (The Elements of Style - E Equals), it's because even though I knew the exact melody I wanted, I couldn't figure out how to play it to sound like I wanted it to in time. So, since I didn't submit a song (and didn't want to record an accapella or have a lot of parts without music), I am going to wait a while for a future Songfight and do a better version of my song later, with similar lyrics.

Could someone kindly explain (in brief) difference between MLA and APA to someone who is not from your shores. erm. that would be me.
Surely citation is citation?
Thanks

MLA television program citation:
"Monkey Trial." American Experience. PBS. WGBH, Boston. 18 Mar. 2003.

APA television program citation:
Pratt, C. (Executive Producer). (2001, December 2). Face the nation
[Television broadcast]. Washington, DC: CBS News.

Or you could google it and find this: MLA vs APA Style: An Overview and this: MLA vs. APA -- Which do I use? which gives this:
Teachers of K-12 students typically prefer the MLA format because the MLA Handbook provides much more detail about citing books, anthologies, audiovisual material, and other sources like interviews, advertisements, and cartoons that a high school student would be more likely to use in a research paper. In contrast, the emphasis in the APA Publication Manual is on sources that students would typically only encounter in advanced research, such as technical reports, proceedings of meetings, and dissertations.

kindergarten through 12th grade. it's simply grade school.

apa sucks. mla is the shit.

In the US, 'grade school' (sometimes 'elementary school,' sometimes 'primary school') usually refers to k-5 (sometimes k-6), while 6-8 (sometimes7-8) is usually middle school (sometimes 'jr. high') while 9-12 is high school.

K-12 basically just means kindergarten through 12th grade (the last year of high school). The schooling you get before your secondary(/trade/college/university) education.

Obviously the terminology varies across the country. Aside from K-12.

Oof. My English Major spirit wishes I had entered in this fight. But it was not to be. Make me proud, fellow grammarians!

PS: Why are there so many people who instantly thought of the book when they saw the title? It makes me feel good about the world.

Does this mean if Henley admits to a micro-penis, we don't have to hear your song? :)

1) People google the song titles?
2) Why doesn't EB White get primary credit for the book? That's unfair.

I always google the song titles.

Then again, I google just about anything, just about all the time.

I didn't google the song title as it was so obviously about fashion.
Sheesh.
