I think it's due time for some reviews
Andrew Reist - I know you guys can't see this one, but I sent one in early on in the week, and it didn't show up ... I know you can't vote for it, but if you want to review it or make fun of it or just listen to it, it's right here. I didn't have a ton of time to do it as I was gone for the weekend, but I didn't send it in late, so I'm not sure why it's not up ... whatever.
@eclectic spOOns - Interesting ... weird effect on voice ... can't say I really enjoy it. Everything sounds a bit off, and the beat seems kind of weird ... vocals seem mixed a bit too low ... I really like the last few seconds ... I give it a 2 out of 5.
Fourth Grade Gladiators - Cool fuzzy start ... I really like it ... I was hoping you would break out into mad rocking right away ... you sound really tired ... I like the crazy singing part ... adds a lot to the song ... I like it ... could have had more variety. I give it a 3 out of 5.
King Arthur - I really like the opening hit ... almost has a smoke on the water feel ... I like the singing ... well done ... almost get into the singing too much, do I dare say? Definitely more feel to it than much I've heard so far on songfight ... awesome ending ... I liked that main riff a lot. I give it a 4 out of 5.
Luke Henley - I really like it, but the vocals seem a bit drowned out ... don't be so shy about raising the volume of the vocals. They're well done ... I'm not sure I love the tone of the guitar, but overall, a good song ... some of the vocal harmonies seem a bit off, but not too noticeable. I sort of wish it had rocked out a bit more, but that's just my opinion. I give it a 3.5 out of 5.
Melvin - Already a classic. I can tell this is professional ... how do you not have a recording contract? This is so awesome! How the frick did you write this in one week? I actually can't find a single problem! You make reviewing so hard ... almost have a relient k sound ... man ... writing songs like this in one week, you could pull off a full awesome cd in about 6 months! Do it. I give you a 10 out of 5.
Mighty Mouse and Pudding Delicious - Very fuzzy ... I like the sound, but the vocals seem kind of out of control ... not bad ... trying too hard at a sound that you're not the best at ... one of you is really good at the whole screaming sound ... the other one doesn't sound too good in the style ... good ending though ... I give it a 3.5 out of 5.
S____ Wes - Cool intro riff ... weird vocal effect ... I honestly can't find one thing about it that I really like, but for some reason I like the song ... definitely have a cool sound ... good thing you didn't drag it out too long, because then it could have been bad ... I give it a 4 out of 5.
WreckdoM - Weird ... cool though ... don't like the vocals that come in at 0:24, but that could be personal taste ... I like most of the other stuff ... not too badly done. Could definitely make the sound a bit less busy ... it gets kind of confusing as to what's going on ... definitely dragged it out way too long. I give it a 3 out of 5.
My vote definitely goes to Melvin. Why you are hanging out with us mortals is beyond me.

@eclectic spOOns – First, it seems a tad off beat? However, I like the effect on the vocals and the music is pretty cool. I just can’t get past the off-beatness. And the second verse is mixed way too low for me, I have to strain to hear it. Overall pretty nice though.
Fourth Grade Gladiators – The start was interesting, and it’s interesting how everything is put together, but I kept expecting something a little more substantial to come in. The doubling on the vocals sounds so much better than any chorus effect would have. The song never goes anywhere though, but it would seem hard to put a hook in it. The ending is quite a change though, I might take back my comment about not changing. But it did give me the impression that my new soundcard had already crapped out on me. You keep faking me into the ending but it makes for an odd loop to keep doing that over and over. Gets a little annoying though after the fifth time. Eh, this song didn’t really do it for me.
King Arthur – First off I think this song would have sounded so much better with a live drum track or even a live drum loop. The lyrics are pretty solid. For me it’s a little too far towards the treble end, but that’s just my preference of being able to feel the bass in my chest cavity.
Luke Henley – I like the sound of this one, songs that sound “I just sat down and played this in one take but it still sounds goodâ€

I am the only one singing. Just thought I ought to clear that up.jolly roger wrote: Mighty Mouse and Pudding Delicious - Very fuzzy ... no need to "whatever," dude. there is a quality control thread for missed songs:jolly roger wrote:I didn't have a ton of time to do it as I was gone for the weekend, but I didn't send it in late, so I'm not sure why it's not up ... whatever.

or you can mail the fightmaster and kindly ask him to look again and see if your song was missed. the best way to do this is to just resend your song with a note.
and, even tho it kinda sucks ballzak, it'll be posted anyways!

S____Wes - Decent, don't like the sample at the beginning, comes together decently. Seems bare and kind of boring.
Rating - 4/10
@eclecticspOOns - Really fucking boring, I didn't like Snow White, and I sure as hell don't want to listen to something that sounds like it came off the official sound track. Plus you have the worst band name ever.
Rating - 2/10
WreckdoM - FUCK YEAH! Woooh! This is what I'm talking about. Totally fucking rockin' out. You don't waste any time and get straight to the point. I nominate you for the best use of howling in a song ever.
Rating - Totally fucking awesome/10
Fourth Grade Gladiators - Didn't listen to your song. Your name sounds like the name of a ska band. I hate ska.
Rating - Didn't listen to it
King Arthur - Beginning reminds of the Law & Order theme song. Law & Order rules. Vocals are decent. Decent lyrics. Chorus is mildly annoying.
Rating - 6/10
Mighty Mouse & Pudding Delicious - Decent. Funny lyrics. Not really digging the beat though, it's kind of bare and make the song seem sparse.
Rating - 6/10
Melvin - Someone said you sounded like Relient K. I agree. Unfortunately, Relient K suck dick. Despite having several different things going on, I still manage to get more bored than when listening to the spOOns. Mostly because it sound like everyother generic pop rock song.
Good Production though.
Rating - 2/14
Luke Henley - Pretty coo' folkish song. Not much to say.
Rating - 7/10
Winner - WreckdoM
Rating - 4/10

Wow, everyone in this fight is either a contender or not even close, no middle man here!
@eclectic sp00ns- Starts out fun but it’s got a bad case of One trick ponyitis. Guess that’s why it’s so short. Music is more entertaining than the vocals, which just don’t grab me and I think you could’ve done a better take, or recorded w/more clarity at least.
Andrew Reist- I wouldn’t say this “sucks ballsâ€

Damn, someone disliking my song I can take. But WRECKDOM disliking my song...why that's heartbreaking.Geoff WreckdoM wrote:
S___ Wes- S rhymes with Wes! Joooooy! Lo-fi dance music with a difficult to discern joke behind it. First it’s cute then it’s tiresome, but short so you saved yourself a few beratings there. Change at 1:13 is what really had me thinking I’d had enough.

OK this is the monologue bit, I'm making apologies for not being particularly critical or helpful in my reviews, because I'm not going to get involved in telling people what they've done wrong with their music, I just listen and if I like it I'll say, if not again I'll say, though there's not much to not like here...
Fourth Grade Gladiators:
The song bit with the female vocalist is cool beyond cool, absolutely brilliant, the rest I'm afraid is a bit, umm! awful, I've stated before that I download the weeks songs and listen to them at work through my player, I'm sorry but it is just far too loud and chaotic, like filling my head with fuzz, this is a shame because the middle bit is borderline excellent. 5/10
WreckdoM:
Hmm! lets hope that Shit Rock doesn't become a recurring theme here.
1st Listen - This sounds rather KISS, I like these WreckdoM guys, but I'm not liking this.
2nd Listen - Better & Funnier 2nd time round, seems a bit redundant, but I'm thinking that's the whole point. 6/10
S____Wes:
Shit Rock again!!
1st Listen: very promising start, but it ended up reminding me of Max Headroom.
2nd Listen: Again a whole lot better 2nd time round, the whole my shit is hard business, very good. 7/10
Mighty Mouse & Pudding Delicious:
The music is very far away from the vocals, which is rather disconcerting, and by the second listen I found myself being reminded of the Hot Waffles, which isn't a bad thing, in fact this is actually really quite good, if the music was up front alongside the vocals this would be a keeper. 7/10
Melvin:
1st Listen - Whoa!!
2nd Listen: This is great, I'm keeping this thank you very much 8/10
Luke Henley:
Sorry I have an inbuilt dislike for this style of music, but I stuck with it and what do you know, it kind of grew of me. this isn't very helpful to you I know, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with this at all. 6/10
King Arthur:
Now this is really really close to being very good, I'd recommend you guys just let yourself go a bit more, the most annoying thing is the song is only what 3:15 but it does seem to take an awful long time to get there, I reckon if you just wigged out a bit you'd blow a few wigs off. 6/10
@eclectic spOOns:
What was I thinking? this is a good idea poorly executed. 5/10

Actually, this one is "Shaft Rock." But I was using a text to speech program, and it's hard to make that very clear sometimes.@eclectic spOOns wrote: S____Wes:

if you're doing tts and the words don't come out right, feel free to change a few letters, add syllables or whatever, and you can make the program pronounce them better. e.g. an old song i put "clee shays" into the thing and it sounded way better than the correct spelling.
