At my local high school the dance rules were recently changed. Here is an excerpt.

"While a listing of all dances is not possible, the following is a list that serves as a guide of dances not permitted: freaking, dirty dancing, grinding, moshing, slamming, sandwich dancing, etc."

Hee. Isn't it fun when they need to specify no freaking.

No freaking or moshing? What kind of a school do you go to?

Dancing with sandwiches is good clean fun for everybody! Why, that reminds me of one high-school dance, way back in the day. My pal Jay stopped at Taco Bell on his way to the gym and brought a dozen burritos or so to give away to all the nice girls. Sure, burritos aren't technically sandwiches, but it was still a good idea.

They need to slim that policy up a bit.

Something like:

"Do not dance in a manner that could potentially hurt or stimulate yourself or another with out the express permission of two valid parents, a school psychologist and three leaders of different denominations of the Christian Faith, submitted in triplicate on the second Tuesday prior to the date of the scheduled "Music Appreciation in a Darkened Gym Night" unless said event involves celebrating the triumphs of the school's women's volleyball squad, in which case you may fondle any consenting member of the opposite sex providing you have a letterman jacket".

I like that policy. It's ... gotta lotta latitude.
