The Song Fight Bulletin Board

I was already pretty sure i wanted to get me one of these. But after seeing this I think I pretty much have to. Has anyone seen these or played them first hand?

No, I've never tried one .. But is that the video of the guy showing how to drum with the keyboard? (It's not loading for me.) That thing's one of the highlights of the Internet.

FWIW, I have tried 3-octave keyboards before, and they're limiting .. Moreso than I would have imagined. It depends what you plan to do with it, obviously, but if you play with both hands, you might need a few more keys.

Yes, that's the video...I hadn't seen it circulating, but I"m not surprised - the guy's fantastic. I can see where 37 keys would be limiting, but I love the idea of a keyboard that's just there while i'm working should inspiration strike. Also, most of my playing is very simplistic, i have no real training so it's all by ear anyway and I'm never moving up and down the board too fast

Nice idea. No cigar. You can't actually play a keyboard with small keys, unless you have weency hands.

I was wondering if this thing could be used as a midi controller for soft synths. I could'nt tell by the documentation. It looks like it has it's own software, but nothing about running any VSTi with it.

I love that in a demo about a music keyboard the guy programs the application key to open MS Word. And how about the convenience of a programmable key to CLOSE an application. That's one I've been waiting on, I'll tell you that!

Maybe he has really tiny hands and can't make the stretch from Alt to F4.

Ya, to your software, this would appear as just another midi controller. As long as the application you use can host VSTi's, this could control them.
