Lava Lamp - Jacob Lynn
am i deafer than before?
i guess i am but not much more
and i wait for you to call me
the sun is all that's left to me
and you and i'll forever be
in the fields of human folly
float around in liquid blue
we'll come together one from two
and run on down the mountain
baskets full of cheese and wine
you bring yours and i bring mine
and frolic in your fountain
there's no genie in a lava lamp
no easy answers in its glow
we feel maybe something's not quite right
but who will ever know?
i look into your eyes and see
a part of you that looks like me
and i'm sorry 'bout your trouble
metronomic progressions
they gives me signals to come in
but all your signals are muddled
a crooked smile, a weighty glance
my third day wearing these same pants
is she thinkin what i'm thinkin?
we're lookin at a lamp of green
bubbles should be floating free
but everything is sinking
am i deafer than before?
i guess i am but not much more
and i wait for you to call me
the sun is all that's left to me
and you and i'll forever be
in the fields of human folly
float around in liquid blue
we'll come together one from two
and run on down the mountain
baskets full of cheese and wine
you bring yours and i bring mine
and frolic in your fountain
