Wee! So this is on Saturday. Anyone else gonna be there? Any other songfighters to run into?

Short reflections upon the bands that I saw...

Day One
Man Man: Octothorpe's annoying little brother. Didn't know how to end a song.

Band of Horses: Mediocre. Every song is the same thing.

Mountain Goats: Highly entertaining. Highly awesome. John Darnielle has one of the best on stage personalities I've seen. He's pretty hilarious.

Destroyer: They pretty muched played the songs exactly as they sound on the album.

Art Brut: Unbearable.

Ted Leo: I know that he played a good set and the crowd loved him. I'm just not a Ted Leo fan, so my review here doesn't count.

Silver Jews: The highlight of the weekend. Even while forgetting a few of the lyrics and acting careless, the set still somehow kicked ass.

Day Two
Showed up late due to a late train and missed Danielson.
I also missed several bands due to sickness caused by taking too many medicines at once. Ugh.

Jens Lekman: He always plays great sets. I'd definitely recommend seeing him in a smaller environment.

Devendra Banhart: Meh. I thought he was kind of boring. He seemed to think that it's still 1969.

Mission of Burma: Old men that rock.

Yo la Tengo: Same thing.

Spoon: I'm not familiar with much of Spoon's music, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. But for just playing standard rock n' roll songs they were pretty good, albeit, without on-stage personality.

I didn't get to see Os Mutantes since I had to leave early in order to walk to miles to catch a train.

Overall, it was a pretty good weekend. It was probably the cleanest, most organized festival I've been to. The Silver Jews alone made the tickets worth it.

We're in a fight? Cuz I will fight you.

As long as it's, like, over the internet.

All Art Brut did was brag about how they're number one in Norway or something stupid like that.
