I'm gonna be honest i would never ever put ketchup on a hotdog. Actually in chicago you will be rudely laughed at for even trying this. but what do you think Is ketchup proper topping for hotdogs?

You can call me crazy, but:
Hot dogs should be adorned with EITHER yellow mustard or cheese.
With no other recourse, they can be enjoyed plain.
ALSO: Not sure about the ketchup/catsup difference, really. But I didn't think it was a moral issue either, so that's how my vote went.

i used to eat hot dogs with mustard, but lately i've been going plain. i think it's just the brand of hot dogs that they use here. very flavorful.
never ketchup.

Those good old indianian hot dogs.
But I didn't think it was a moral issue either, so that's how my vote went.

If there is any food on which you would not put ketchup, we diverge on key issues, and would likely not work in a long-term relationship.
Hot dogs are pretty disgusting, though. Except ballpark hotdogs, which are good but they usually come with mustard and mustard is even more disgusting.

(I anticipate a "Mayo pro or con" poll coming...)
I'm anti-ketchup/catsup on hotdogs, but I'm pro- ketchup in other venues.
Must be the Chicago upbringing thing.

I'm completely anti ketchup/catsup.
I am pro tomato sauce (a.k.a. red sauce, or
'dead horse')

Oh yeah, tomato sauce -- now that's good eatin'!
Marinara sauce is okay too, but its only real purpose is as a garnish for fried cheese.

The problem that keeps racking my brain is why do i like ketchup on other things(i.e. eggs, burgers etc.) but can't stand it on a hotdog. This and a unified theory of physics linking general relativity and quantum physics together into a cohesive theory are the two greastest mysteries in modern science.
oh yeah and what is consciousness, those three.
on a side note anyone who believes in string theory is a crackpot and an idiot.
edit:: I'm seriously thinking about never posting again, due to my post count. though it may seem childish, i believe should be considered.

You should make a new account. And then stop when that one hits the same postcount.
And then make 67 more accounts.

Ketchup goes on hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, spam, chili, french fries, roast beef, corned beef hash, chicken nuggets, bread, grilled cheese sandwiches, shrimp & salads (think about it), philly cheese steaks, onion rings, macaroni & cheese, eggs, hasbrowns, meatloaf, Gyro meat, pork chops, ketchup, catfish, sausage, home fries, women, and mash potatoes.

Ketchup and mustard on dogs. With pickles or chillis. I prefer chicken dogs. Well done, fried in oil or roasted over a fire (NEVER boiled) with a little of that smokey burnt flavor thing happening. And a toasted bun.
Chocolate on women, though.

Ketchup = yes. Ideal hotdog toppings are mustard and sauerkraut.

All HS football season I worked in the refreshment stands(I was helping the marching band parents, as they head some local organization that gives veeeery nice scholarships to people they like that help the music department or some jazz.) After making hundreds of hot dogs every Friday night for a few months, I'm pretty sick of hot dogs. They're horrible and nasty and smell diiiiisgusting.
Boo hot dogs.
