Can fightmaster-at-songfight.org automatically send back a "got your submission at 9:30 PST" email so I don't have to sweat out the "did-my-enourmous-attachment-go-through?" feeling?

only if shadowy puppetmaster can make it happen. doing it manually isn't an option.

Just to play devil's advocate for a second, it might be possible for the FMs to use a filter on their mail server or in their mail clients to auto-reply to the song submission e-mails. Then submitters would know that the mail had been delivered, though that wouldn't really guarantee that it would be noticed and processed and posted. Not that I'm recommending that or anything, just wanted to butt in...

I've added an autoresponder to the fightmaster mailbox. Now you'll at least know the message reached songfight.org.

Thanks, JB, that was always a somewhat stressful time, wondering if your email made it. Not too stressful, mind you, but thanks!

Yay, excellent! A nice simple solution.

it would be great if the autoresponder just said "got it"

for old times sake :)

My connection is always sketchy, so this is, in my opinion, the greatest advance in SF since I've been here. Now I should actually, you know, finish a song and take advantage of it...

I got my first auto response earlier this morning after a 4 hour late-night session, and I really appreciate the second guessing and potential added quilt it introduces. Makes me sleep better knowing I may have screwed up royally and these 2 1/2 hours of sleep may be for naught.
