Okay, so I just bought a new guitar and amp today, so time for another "what do you use?" wankfest.

• Electric guitar: Epiphone Sheraton II semi-hollow body
• Acoustic guitar: some sort of Ibanez, I forget the model
• Obligatory shitty guitar: an $80 Squier
• Amp: Marshall MG30DFX
• Main mic: MXL990
• Mixer/phantom power source: Yamaha MG10/2
• Keyboard: Casio Privia PX-300
• MIDI controller: M-Audio Oxygen8
• Synth module: Fred, an Elektron SIDstation
• Crappy electric drum kit: Ion iED-01 (mostly just for banging around; I usually use my keyboard to actually record drum patterns)
• ADC box: Tascam US-428
• Software: Logic Pro 7.1 running on a PowerMac G5 2.0GHz DualCore
• Other crap: Several crappy mics, a cheap-ass distortion pedal, a Roland Microcube, and an electric violin which cost $80 on Amazon

i use:

electric guitar - fender telecaster
bass guitar: fender precision bass
guitar amp: marshall 100 watts
bass amp - Gallien krueger
soundcard - m-audio audiophile 24/96
mixer- spirit notepad

it's not much, but all this plus a few cheap dynamic mic's and alot of hours on editing software produces fairly listenable recordings!

I think it's funny that Fluffy's computer is worth (new) more than all of his gear combined.

Kudos on the Sheraton II, though. I've had mine for a few years, though I've thrown in some different pickups (you didn't think I wouldn't throw in at least a small jab, did you?)

Oh, and don't just say "Fender Stratocaster." Say "1996 American Strat, 3-color sunburst with maple neck, hand-wired Route 66 pickups and coil tap installed."

Yeah, I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. Whatever you've got, take care of it. I've got too much stuff to list, but some of the primary stuff:

Hardware: Roland 2480 24 track recorder
Electric Guitar: 1988 Gibson Les Paul Standard w/ stock electronics, 1971 Fender Stratocaster w/stock sunburst
Acoustic Guitar: 2001 Gibson J-160E
Bass: 1990 Fender P-Lyte
Keys: Roland XP-30 and MOOG Little Phatty
Mics: KSM-44, SM-57, D-6, SM-81
Drums: Cheap no name kick, tom, and floor, the snare is a much used Slingerland that is at least 20 years old. Zildjian Earth Ride cymbal.
Pedals: I can't count them all, but Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man and wah are what I use for jams.
Amps: Top Hats, Bedrocks, Pignose Portable.
Stuff: Electric Kazoo, Theremin, unused Yamaha sequencer, tambourines and maracas.

I've started to put what I use on each Songfight! entry in the MP3 properties notes. I'm sure I could go on and on but am already feeling too self indulgent. But keep on wanking, peeps!

do you think i'd be able to get use out of one of these, or would it just fall apart? every e-kit i've played has sagged after 10 minutes or so.

You broke my kit in Santa Cruz! Maybe if you played them with rod sticks or socks on your hands or something...

The pads are pretty rugged but the frame isn't so rugged.

Not true, and even if it were, what's your point? I do a lot more with my computer than music. Plus, it's also the most important component of my music, given that I use it for all my mixing, editing, most of my synthesis, etc., so.

BTW, that list is way outdated, seeing as how it's from, like, two years ago (I've gotten more mics and instruments since then, and replaced the Tascam 428 with a Yamaha rackmount mixer that Sober has made fun of me for in the Musicians Friend thread). I don't get why this thread is suddenly active again.
