Gert in the Toronto Star

When Gert jammed for the first time last Sunday, the Toronto Star was interested. Our resident writer, Smalltown, put this together for them, and they sent the photographer.

In this photo, the cutline is incorrect. You'll be looking at, from left, Deshead on guitar, Tonetripper on bass, Leaf on the drums, Boltoph on guitar, Smalltown on the mic, and THC on guitar.

Enjoy:

That, is a fabulous article. I got a little teary-eyed.

And it's some really *excellent* writing too. I'm jealous.

I agree, JB. Mike is one helluva writer.

We shoulda taken our shirts off for the picture, though.

That really means a lot to me, thanks, J.B.

This is the first time in a long time that I've been nervous writing an article; the subject matter obviously is very important to me. Thanks for the kind words.

Well done Mike!

uh... not to be too much of a pimp, but Smalltown is a pro... if you need a press release, I understand his rates are rather reasonable ( a six of Heinekin should do it...)

... actually I have no idea what his rate is, but I'm seriously considering trying to flog his article to B.C. papers.

I'm going out today to buy a couple copies of that issue.

The weirdest part was having the professional photographer there... it was like I had attended some fantasy summer camp! At one point she said " we'll just do some typical standard band shots".

I had to laugh inside... cause I had no idea what that meant!!

I'd also like to point out that my quote is clearly edited by Smalltown. Since when do I comment on something without a curse word or screwed up grammar????

AWESOME article Mike. The icing on the cake.

That is quite nice! Is THC playing an Ibenez Artist? I think I have that same model (soon to be for sale).

Coincidentally, I based my "Twenty One" on an article in the Toronto Star.

It's an Epiphone Dot. I've never heard an Ibanez Artist...how do you like it?

Awesome article Mike!

It's really quite nice. I don't use it much but thats more circumstantial than anything about the guitar.

Believe it or not, I think Des was actually playing an Ibanez artist, but it was red and didn't have the f-holes perhaps...a solid body artist...I think...I could be mistaken, and it can only be seen from the side, Des on the left.

I can't find the link to the jam mp3 that was mentioned.

Tonetripper is continuing to get boned by his ISP, so we're still without said jam files. We should have them up by the end of the week, hopefully.

I never actually played the Artist (that was my bro's Godin in the picture,) but ya, it's a solid body, same sunburst finish. Sexy, but heavier than a dead preacher.
