Post by moboid »

Can we get a head count of who is still working on their song, and who is not gonna do their song? So far I know bwell and Lunkhead are both still In (and Caravan Ray and StueyM are Out) but I would love to hear from the rest o' ya!

I'm tryin'. After however long I still can't really get a satisfactory grip on the track. But I'm tryin'. I'll get something in if I can meet my standards. Please withhold all jokes.

cool, thanks, i got a new mic a few weeks ago and was hoping it would make a difference, still managed to clip a few of the vocals tho (its better quality clipping now tho heheheh).
My first thoughts for this remix was 'do a good ole metal version' then i found out foo fighters covered it so (inspired by an irish fiddle type soundfont) i came up with this, glad yas like it :)

seems newborn Sean has good taste ;)

I'm posting some version or other of my cover today, so that I'm less than a month late. What about the rest of you stragglers?

OK, I'm giving up on this for now, and may revisit it one day to tidy it up a bit. At the moment, though, consider it "done":

I'm going to have to bow out. Our recording computer has been slowly getting sicker and sicker and now we need to overhaul. No more Hostess Mostess until the new hard drive arrives. I was holding out hope. But alas, computers don't understand hope.

With your blessing, Mostess, I'll pick up that tune. I've been wanting to cover that one, and I might have some time for it tonight.

The smooth rock must go on.

Let's collab on it, Jim. When you're done with your part, e-mail it to me and I will add some bass guitar and backup vocals.

ROCK!

Wow Lunkhead! Definitely worth the wait, this is one of my favorites.

Very Smooth. I'll do full reviews at some point but this one has me entranced so far.

Hey Roymond, I have a cover of your song I did a while back. Mind if I post it until you get yours done?

Not at all, go ahead. It'll be another week for me to get this done.

End of an era

Post by moboid »

How 'bout we try to wrap this up this weekend? No halloween costumes to worry about, no major holidays to consider for another 3 weeks... and hearing all your beautiful songs would be a source of consolation to me for the shock and pain of being pictured in the local newsweekly holding a keytar.

Thanks, Dan-O and Freddie. I plan to try to write some reviews for all the covers at some point, possibly this weekend. Good work, everybody.

Sidefight logistics

Post by moboid »

Does anyone have time/inclination to create and manage the official Yacht Rock Side Fight page? If you don't have server space I can offer my own, but I am swamped with my day job and some other thangs right now so I'm just looking for someone to build the site itself. And the voting engine and all that.

Or do we even need it? I would kinda like to have one for people to link to... but if we want to just do it through the boards I guess we can? (Advice?)

Also does someone want to do cover art?
