I spied The Tick complete series at Best Buy over the summer, and snatched it up. Just today, my order for the complete series of Greg the Bunny came in. Anybody have any reaction to either? I thought they were both genius pieces of work. 8)

Since the obvious ones haven't been mentioned: Family Guy, Futurama.

Well, yeah, everyone is pissed about those (New Family Guy, Jan. 25, people!), but they had decent life spans. The Tick aired seven eps, and Greg aired eleven.

Are you talking about the cartoon or the live show? I loved the cartoon. Never caught the live show.

The Dana Carvey Show was terrific also. I still remember that old lady clown who did everything really, really slow, and a pie in the face took like 45 seconds. It was pathetic and hilarious.

Does anyone remember a sitcom called Grand? It's not a Fox show, but it was canned way early. Michael McKean was in it, and Bonnie Hunt (?) I think. It was entirely bizarre, but really great.

Greg the FUCKING Bunny goddammit. That show was so great. Sigh.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe wasn't bad either. Was that Fox? Well, it was canned anyway.

And I was pretty mad when they canceled Dungeons and Dragons too. But that obviously wasn't Fox either.

i always loved that show The PJ's. shame it never caught on.

I think that Fox takes on shows with a high quirk factor, because they know that they will either 1) take off in a major way, like Ally McBeal and Malcolm in the Middle, or 2) have a major cult following which they can in some way turn into DVD profits.

"Grand" was on NBC, I think. It had the most bitchinest ensemble cast and one of the coolest theme songs evar. I think that it was on for 2 seasons, which was way too short.

Fox isn't known for its good time. On my Niveous' Retrograde (on myspace), I devoted a whole week to odd Fox TV shows like "Woops", "M.A.N.T.I.S.", "Top of the Heap" & "Good Grief"

But occasionally they get a gem, then toss it away too soon. How about "Flying Blind" with Tea Leoni.

I pretty much stopped watching TV after Fox cancelled 'Futurama'.

That's just the ones I used to watch. The ones I used to watch that didn't make it to a second season. They also have the even more inexplicable habit of cancelling shows with loyal and active fanbases.

Why do they do it? And why do Patrick Warburton and Seth Green seem to be on the scene so often?

Yeah, that was retarded, as was changing American Maid's name to whatever they changed it to. I just was really disappointed in the live show. It lost a lot of what made the cartoon great. If it was its own show, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more than I did... it was just so pale in comparison. If they released the cartoon Tick's entire series on DVD I'd buy it. The live show, ehhhh probably wouldn't watch it much.

Heh, I forgot about that PJ's show. It was pretty good. I hardly ever remember to watch TV though, which is my problem... I'm not good with schedules.
