Help me decide a new band name!
I might as well get an account and Those Meddling Kids is taken (although Those Meddlin' Kids probably isn't)
hmmmm; but anyway, I didn't put that much thought into that name and I wanna know if any of these ones sound better. I'm also interested to hear variations on the choices and which ones you might think are shiiiiiiiiit.
Oh yeah, and all these ideas are based on pre-SF track names.
thanks for your help!

For an internet-based band, "Enemies of Invention" and "Suppressed Technology" are a little too meta. And "Nothing Happens Conspicuously" is too hard to remember. The others are OK. Tidal Panels isn't a common expression (only 3 hits in Google) so it's probably your best bet for being unique.
Taken where? Those Meddling Kids is taken

Egyptian Cotton has strong personal resonance, as I once had a superb tent made of this wonderous fiber (nearly water proof yet breathable). This, of course, will have universal appeal. Other than that it's also a bit off-beat as a band name. I'd click a song by them

Les Yeux is terrible because it's so hard to pronounce. Save "The Love in this Gazebo" for an album title. I'd go with "Egyptian Cotton." The rest are terrible, with Tidal Panels and Suppressed Technology being particularly heinous. Actually, The Love in this Gazebo may be the best choice. I will vote for that.

Tidal Panels is odd.
Les Yeux is weird. The Eyes???
The Love in this Gazebo is okay, it's got that cheesy quality like Cute is What We Aim For.
Nothing happens Conspicuously is not a good band name. Can you hear "Ladies & Gentleman, Nothing Happens Conspicuously". Plus Conspicuously is hard to spell.
I agree with Des on Supressed Technology. Enemies of Invention is okay but may fall into the same category.
Egyptian Cotton is a good name and would probably get my vote.....if it weren't for the movie Uptown Girls. Uptown Girls is a flick with Brittney Murphy and my arch-nemesis Dakota Fanning. It includes a song called "Sheets of Egyptian Cotton". Here- watch this clip from the movie and you won't want to be associated with it:

So my vote is Those Meddling Kids UK

Band Name Reviews...
Tidal Panels - I don't know. Just doesn't work.
Les Yeux - French band names are always lame.
The Love in This Gazebo - I voted for this just because it was the most interesting, though it sounds more like a short story title.
Nothing Happens Conspicuously - I'm not a fan of statement band names.
Suppressed Technology - Sounds like the name of a small corporation.
Egyptian Cotton - Same as Tidal Panels.
Enemies of Invention - Isn't there already a band called Mothers of Invention?

Unlikely:
That you'll get anything approaching a consensus on the best of this batch of names (or any batch of names)
More Likely:
That you'll get something approaching a consensus that everyone on Songfight hates all of this batch of names (or any batch of names)
My Suggestion:
Pick a name meaningful to you and screw the poll. "The camel is a horse designed by a committee" blah blah blah.
...Oh! And BTW I hate this batch of names!
(I'd stick with TMK!)

However I claim 'Male Pattern Baldness' for my future first-born.

I dont understand Myspace.sausage boy wrote:some Sausage Boy wannabe had already taken myspace.com/sausageboy, so I just added music to the end of mine, to make myspace.com/sausageboymusic, which, you know, if some fucking brain surgery right there.
I had a space called myspace.com/caravanray - but it wasn't a music one - so I cancelled it and opend a new music one - but no I seem to have 2 spaces:
myspace.com/caravanray, and
myspace.com/caravanraymusic
and I don't have any friends on either of them

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, I'm surprised you don't all think Those Meddling Kids is cliched or something, but this response is exactly what I was hoping for and part of the reason I did the thread was to enlighten me to obvious choices that I didn't think of, like...
anyway it is done
