Right now I'm listening to Moka's remix of the Ocarina of Time soundtrack. It's pretty good in places, though in other places it's not so good. Definitely not worth the $30-odd Amazon is charging for it, though (I found it on suprnova and thought it was just some random fan's free remix project).

I know many are split on this one, but I enjoy (most of) The Black Mages, the hard rock/metal arrangements of Final Fantasy battle themes.

Chrono Trigger - The Brink of Time had some neat moments, but overall was a bit of a letdown. Mainly, though, I still just want a real orchestra to redo Magus's theme.

I'm still trying to get a hold of Time and Space. The demo sounded pretty good.

$17, after shipping. I am a poor college student, though.

Sell your blood. I'm sure there's a goth somewhere who wants some of it.

http://www.vgmix.com and the aforementioned ocr both have great doom remixes among other things.

It's not a remix but I just wanted to say that "This is my happiness", the end theme to Space Channel 5, part 2 is an incredible song.

They do covers, not remixes, but it goes without saying that The Minibosses are the best thing to ever happen to the tunes of the NES / open for MC Frontalot.

The Katamari Damacy soundtrack is more or less the best thing ever.

The NESkimos are also pretty good. Their cover of "Grape Garden" from Kirby's Adventure, in particular, is rockin'.

Drew is very correct re: Katamari Damacy, that lived in my cd player a couple months ago.

Also great is the music to Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 3. Haven't acquired the actual soundtrack yet, but the in-game music is very good.

I'm really digging on this dude's stuff, which I saw linked on some music blog. I think. Anyway check out Nintendo Breakz; dude takes 7- or 60-second samples of NES music and adds bad-ass drum beats behind them. I dunno about his other stuff (haven't listened yet) but...
