I'm still wondering how I'm going to fit that into a grammatically correct sentence. Is it even possible?

He's evidentally tired of buying the booze because he has been consuming it. ;)

It's the first time that I remember having a review thread that has pre-dated the pre-fight thread. Maybe that actually IS a first. Judges?

ROCK!

I call dibs on "you get the wiser of the two; I'll take the dumb one", as spoken to your wingman at a bar.

I wasn't thinking anything like that, but that for sure is a great line.

I vaguely recall sitting in a dodgy bar in Santa Cruz telling JB that I was going to change my stage name to "Bud Wiser". (Though I can't for the life of me think where that inspiration may have come from)

This looks like an excellent time for Bud to make an appearance.
...or not.

OH NO!

I just pulled the whole work-for-20-hours-on-a-song-and-then-find-out-right-after-you-finish-that-the-title-is-slightly-different-then-what-you-were-supposed-to-do.

So I hope you guys enjoy my "You are the Wiser"

*sigh*

I was going to do this with Jeff Robertson's lyrics, then my dog died, then I got sick. I couldn't get into it.

That sounds like the makings of a good country song. All that's missing is your truck breaking down and your wife leaving you.

That's hilarious.
It's 5 in the morning, and my wife just left for the airport -- in my truck.
Hopefully she'll come back tonight. The dog won't.
And I'm still sick.

Damn, can't believe I screwed the title up too. There it is, written correctly on my lyric sheet, and on the music sheet, but nooooo, just can't key it in correctly in the ID3 track or filename.

Duhhhhh.

I make an entire MIDI version of the song, with at least the bass line if not the actual chords. The tool I do this in uses staff notation, not "piano roll", so it is sorta like writing sheet music. Then I basically use it as a click track, and nobody ever hears it.

I guess I'll review the songs. Lots of good ones.

Add- This is really good. Some of the singing sounds forced, but it still all sounds good. Quite possibly a vote. Sweet keys.

BlakeW- Whaaattt the... no but this is pretty sweet. It reminds me of Michael Jackson mixed with that band that did that discovery channel song a while back. Another good track.

flvxxmblah- Pretty funny, but not a contender. Nevertheless. Pretty cool solo thing.

JeffTravisHenderson- Robin Hood! This is really original. Plus you have a good voice. Nice track. This ones up there in the contender category.

Johnbenjaminband- Really original. This is pretty sweet. (sorry for my overusage of the word sweet.)

Johnny's Evil Twin- Scary. Nice music. Entertaining.

JollyRoger- Good right when it starts. I like this song.

Jordan Cooper- This is alright, but a lot of these other tracks catch my attention a lot more. Nice guitar work.

Klownhole- Haha, I was looking forward to this one. Opera metal. Is this a new genre? I hope it is, because it's pretty cool. Sounds like Danny Elfman if he were into this type of music. Awesome.

Lymph- Nirvana! nonono. Now it's nothing like Nirvana. It's a good thing. Ha, this is pretty cool. Another really original one.

ModernAlternatives- Good vocal work. Is that real piano? Sounds like a loop. Either way, there's no problems here. Nice job.

ManandFunk- I like the one without drums more for some reason. This is probably my favorite that we've done. Jordan, you took out the most important part. And that is the ocean everyone.

Paco- A little shaky. Nice story.

Pigpen- Sad...such a sad story...

Rabid Garfunkel- Dooooodoooodooo. Whoah. announcer voice!

RaisedbyWolves- Is that xylophone? This is awesome. Makes me want to watch Labyrinth. Seriously, I like this.

Seamus- Classic. How did you do that old scratchy noise in the background track? Sweet song.

Mike- Pretty punk. Nice.

Swillington- Is there going to be a chorus of angels? This uplifts my heart. I want to go do something good. Random end. But man, this is really cool.

ThanksfortheFrisbee- I went to your myspace page so i heard this. I don't like it as much as your other stuff. Pretty good though.

Wages- Dang.

Zipline- Trippy. Sounds like your just winging it. Pretty much what Jordan and I do most of the time. But that's what makes it fun.

Hey everyone! I'm new to Song Fight. My name is Jordan Cooper. I didn't even notice a forum until today. Looks like someone thought of the "i get the dumb one" thing before I recorded that in my song...woops.

I've been slow on song ideas lately so thought this might STIR UP THE OL' JUICES IN ME.

I'm amazed by the quality of a lot of these tracks. I'm kind of humbled by them, yikes. Don't know if I'd win.

For "You Get The Wiser" i was just trying to do a short, catchy pop song. I forgot to put a bass line. Woops.

Anyway, hello.

-Jordan
