Mp3 Player

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I'm interested in purchasing a new mp3 player and I'm a little weary to buy an ipod because you can't transfer music from the ipod to a computer. Is there an mp3 player out there that has the following?...
1. 35-40 GB
2. Can transfer mp3s to other computers
3. Plays iTunes music store protected audio files
4. Is relatively small/compact
