RIP James Brown. The world is a less interesting place for your having passed.

He had, like all of us, his eccentricities, but sure put out a lot of good and influential music.

Very tragic. Cue the James Brown anthology on Christmas.
Gonna get in the hot tub.

Wow, that sucks. I never went to see him perform. Rest in peace, godfather.

I thought this was going to be the Christmas loot thread. Like where you list all the stuff you got for Christmas.

At least I got to see George Clinton before his impending demise.
It'd be good to see Dylan as well. The Temptations and the Fourtops are in Dallas on the 30th, too.

I've seen Dylan a couple times in the last couple of years, and while he may not be able to sing much he has an amazing band and they put on a great show. I just saw the Stones, and they may be a bit decrepit (except for Mick Jagger, who still prances around like he's 20), but they still put on a hell of a show. I was really skeptical about both acts, but one of my friends convinced me to see Dylan and actually bought my Stones ticket, so I owe him.
