What is Song Fight? Is there an FAQ or something I can check out?

Mind you, it's a bit out of date where it says "Every week several titles are provided" - that used to be the case, but now we seem to be back to one title a week.

Okay, well I saw the songs and listened to a few. Some of it's really good! I'm kinda slow (and we just had our first baby a couple weeks ago) so I haven't had time to really sift through and see how the nuts and bolts of things work.

If I were to guess, it looks like somehow a topic for a song creation is divined, and several members then create a song based on that topic. They then record and submit the songs, which are then rated by the other members via vote.

Am I close?

Yes, I'm a musician and I've been playing guitar for just over 17 years. I'm terrible at recording, even though I have decent equipment, yet I keep on truckin'.

On my website there is a link for samples that have some rough recordings, if you want to listen. Nothing on there is a final product, unfortunately, as my time contraints are great and my mixing/mastering prowess is limited. You'll also note that the site itself is a work in progress, as well.

You misunderstand, Romp. Fightmaster gives you a title. You write a song for that title, and send it in by the deadline. The title and deadline for the competition is posted in the upper-right of songfight.org

This forum is an adjunct to songfight.org. There are many entrants to the competition who do not post on these boards. It's not limited to members here.
