Creating a band's logo/image

So, my band's demo is done, our lineup is reasonably solidified, and we're ready to start gigging 5 nights/week. As someone who's been on the inside of the club world and close to the booking process, I know that a demo alone doesn't get you very far. A reasonable package must be handed to the booking agent to increase the chances of landing the job.
We have access to great printing facilities, so the physical components aren't an issue. The demo sounds awesome, so that's not a concern. Our singer is a good businessman, so negotiating isn't a concern.
What we need is a good logo and overall design theme. I suppose this might be an issue better taken up via pm with Bortwein or someone, but I wanted to put this out there to see if anyone had any general feedback.
If anyone cares to throw ideas at my specific situation, the band's name is Mr. Ridiculous. Not my idea, no one in the band is in love with the name, but every single girl we've asked likes that name. So that's our name.
As far as a logo goes, I think something as simple as a good filtered font would do. Something like the following corporate images:
Bubble Tape/Hubba Bubba
Powderpuff Girls
Superman (though I think something a bit more cartoony would be best
An Athletics-type script
There are others that are in my head, but I can't put my finger on them. Any ideas? Any logos that you've created?
