@#$% The House of Leaves! -- (G-E-B)

Post by anti-m »

Juuuuuust kidding!

...But I finally started reading Godel, Escher, Bach by Douglas R. Hofstadter... and if you're in to mental gymnastics, puzzles, and general mind f#$%, this seems to be the book for you. So far it's awfully entertaining for a book with so much math in it. I'll report back as I get further into it. (only about 100 pages in so far)

The man is incredible. Hofstadter's Metamagical Themas is one of the best books I've ever read and influences my personal philosophy/ethics to an enormous degree.

My friend Lauralee had this in college and I flipped through it a lot in her dorm room. I keep thinking I should get my own copy, 'cause it was way cool.

You should-- I'd be very surprised if you didn't enjoy it a lot.
