Lilly Allen?

I never heard of her until I saw her on SNL last Saturday. I don't generally like pop music, but she has a sweet voice and a GREAT band. The horns kick ass. Anyone ever hear of her, or am I just WAY out of the loop these days? I want to hear more from her, but there's not much available yet.
Is she British or Aussie?

You're kidding! You really can't tell the difference?

BTW - I agree, I am very impressed with her too. Her songs are great, lyrics especially.

We just got on the Lily Allen bandwagon in my house at the end of 2006. Her lyrics are great. She's definitely not your average pop. I can't believe that the US took so long to pick up on her.

OK, I see why I couldn't find much, It's Lily with one "L".
I have trouble telling when she is singing, but I found this vid where she is talking, I can tell she's a Brit....right?

This is one thread where I can feel waaaay ahead of the curve :D she's been omnipresent on the radio since about last April at least. I remember hearing her first in the car and loving the vibes, I tend to be put off by having something shoved down my throat so relentlessly (and it has been relentless, believe), and I begrudge her the fact her dad's semi-famous already which must help, but I can't deny, she's got the moves and that's what counts.

Summer album of 2006, no question.

Her breasts are not big enough for me to like her.

Her music's decent, but after having just seen the video for "Smile," I'm too weirded out/disturbed to enjoy it as much as I did when I first heard it a couple months ago.

Jeez -- I don't get it!

I listened to "Smile" due to the sidefight in its honor, but it sounds totally generic to me. She's like a deranged, bunnyboiler Ace of Base for the new century... or something.

Is it just 'cause she's cute? (Small boobs notwithstanding?)

I haven't heard anything other than Smile, but I liked that okay. I had fun remixing it. The song wasn't enough to make me want to run out and buy the album, though.

I found her accent very cute.

Upon further investigation, my analysis is that she blows.

I think it's partly the accent, but I like the old school vibe from the band. What got me interested was that I saw them live on SNL, and they jammed. But if I just heard them on the radio, who knows. As I said, I'm not much into pop radio music, otherwise I'd have more Glen Case in my Ipod. j/k

Smile isn't her best song. Her best song is "Alfie." I love that one. Most of what I like about her is her amazing voice. I'd marry her just so I could listen to her sing around the house all day.
