Interesting topic idea. I think mine is Incoherent. The studio version never was quite what I was after, but it's loads of fun to play live.

OK Everyone, I need some help here.

I'm a big person when it comes to lists. I grew up listening to Casey's Top 40 every weekend. I used to get pissed off when I missed it and would stay up late to catch the replay in the middle of the night. Lists like that are just my thing.

Well, last year I did a Top 50 Songfight Songs of 2003. This year, I want to go that extra mile (call it making up for doing so few reviews this year). I want to include all the out-of-bounds songs from this year into the nomination. That includes all the sidefights, hxaro and other songs that SF'ers have done in 2004. Now I could just pick through every thread and every band's personal website. That would also be a bit time consuming and I wanna put out my list sometime in the first week of January. So I was hoping the community could help.

Think of this as archiving all your other works. Could you please post links to where I can find your non-SF work (sidefights, hxaro, etc) from 2004.

http://www.thesoberirishman.com does pretty well I suppose. Most of the stuff in the 'studio demo' page is what I consider my personal best. I should update that stuff, though. I'll do it soon.

Great idea! Surely it'll be better than any list Rolling Stone could come up with.

I decided to leave out all the "out of bounds" stuff. I can actually attribute that to you, PJ. You're quite the prolific musician. I found myself with the daunting task of going through all the tunes on your soundclick page and thought to myself, if everyone elses websites are like this, I'm doomed. So I scrapped the "out of bounds" stuff except for "coverfight" which is still an SF sanctioned event. I love hearing Songfighters work that's outside of SF but adding it to the countdown would've been insane. Maybe SF Radio will be nice enough to let me do a show of non-SF work and there I'll showcase my faves intead.

Untrue. I enjoyed your "Start Over", "Can't Take Our Love Away" & "That's Not What I Need". There are still lots of SF songs from 2004 that I like that didn't make my top 200. 2004 was that good of a year in my opinion.

Niveous, this rocks. Great work man. It'll take some time to sort through, but I'm looking forward to going through each track. Just my own opinion, I also would have liked to read your thoughts on the tracks... but it really roxors man. That's a pile of listenage!!!

I agree with John M. I mean, about Frontalot's Romantic Cheapskate. I'd have put that higher, too.
But it ain't my list, is it? It's a Hell of a lot of fun to look through, and kudos for putting it together!

God that's a lot of work. Between you and Glenn, there's an intimidating mountain of reviewing going on. Very fun!

I have to say, however, that all your websites have been nearly unreadable on Firefox (both Win and Mac) and Safari. So, I assume you're using an IE-specific html tool that breaks other browsers. Anyone else experiencing this? Am I just paranoid (yes, even if I am it doesn't mean this isn't a slippery conspiracy to freak roy out).

Wow on that list. I have nothing to suggest about your choices of order, as it's your list.... what a cool idea and a great effort man! Really impressed by that... it's always cool to see some peripheral songfight trivia.

Yeah, 164th!!! Seriously there were tons of great songs this last year. I'm always trying to get some non-songfighter to listen to something from here.
About the only songs I didn't see on there that I would have put there too would be Sven Mullets "I Thought I Loved You" and C Hack's "Rabies."
