Yesterday it turns out I was late to work again. I was about half way to work when I realized I forgot my purse. I had to turn around and go back to get it or else I wouldn't have had any money, my driver's license, etc. So the drive back to work was really trafficy. Luckily my boss was cool with it.
The kids are sick. I blame the Maplewood Mall's indoor play area. I washed their hands and everything after they were done playing, but they're sick bad. Spencer woke up in the middle of the night coughing and crying. It sucked. Allison's voice is so funny, it's all scratchy and husky!
Last night Phil stayed home from work because he didn't feel great either. It was nice to see him and hang out. We talked about Spencer starting Kindergarten in the fall. He goes to Kindergarted Round Up next week, We're so excited for him.
I talked to my mom and dad on the phone last night too. My dad bought my mom and iPod and they have no idea how to use it... we'll see how that goes.
My one goal today, be on time to work. Oh, and don't get sick!

I got in from the show at about 1:30. Up at 6:00, and out the door at 7.
I stopped by Wii-Mart before work and picked up the WiiPlay game, which comes with a second remote. I'd been holding off on getting another game until I could get this. So yay!
I'm at work now. My big projects are finally off my desk, and things are back to normal. After work, it's dinner and Wii with the fam, and then I'm headed out to an open mic at a place called The Twig in Warren, NH. They are booking musicians for Friday nights, apparently.

I'm realizing that butt-leg pain, at it's current rate of increase, will need to be doctored. I'm having a hard time finding a non-painful position!
So yeah, the kids are still sick. So today , we'll kick it.
Gonna try to draw early today, once this naproxin kicks in.
I've still never tried the Wii, but I'd sure like to.
Nabbed a homebrew World of Sand (or "falling sand game") for my DS yesterday. Took a while to convince Heather that it was worth fiddling with, but she came to see the light.

Yesterday was such a crazy day for me with Nur Ein starting and a crazy day at work including my first time seeing someone hauled off by security. I'm hoping that today will find some peace.

Thank you. I try. Today during my lunch break, I have had a lot of ideas for the Nur Ein page and hopefully I'll be able to implement them for Friday.

If it's in the upper hamstring area, or around the top of your buttock located on the lateral sides of the posterior surface, you should try this stretch... it will definitely relieve (although it won't "cure" or eliminate) your discomfort.
Find a place where you can lie on the floor against a wall. With your butt right up against the wall, your back on the floor, and your feet and legs up the wall. Now, lower one leg so it's in a lotus type position, as if you were crossing your legs. Just sit there, read a comic. After five minutes or so, switch legs. Then, carefully bring both legs down, turn around, and adopt a position as if you were "bowing, on your knees to a supreme commander. You should be on your knees, folded forward, and arms are GENTLY reaching out ahead of you. Now, using your fingers, "crawl" your upper body forward until you feel a GENTLE stretch through the shoulder blades. Hold for 45 seconds minimum, then crawl back up.
I have to deal with people who develop back pain located in the upper back hip region, or similar areas. Often, relief can be found by stretching the supporting muscles gently so they don't stress the injured areas. These two stretches are effective as they do not put strain on the hip and lower back/upper buttock region. (doing this standing up will allow gravity to pull the upper body and strain the mid-lower back area, thus putting legs against the wall).
I hope I described that accurately. There are many other effective stretches, but I dont' really know you're issues.
Also, if you sleep on your back, or straight, I suggest placing a pillow between your knees as it will keep the spine in alignment.
Chiropractic assistance is unfortunately more controversial than it needs to be... if you can stomach it and find a chiro that will not only adjust BUT recommend action to assist the treatments (some chiro's adjust and then send you home without a word but that school of thought is diminishing) you may find relief.
Medical Doctors tend to recommend either drugs or rest; and then move to surgery. Physio, chiro, alternative medicines, stretching effectively, drinking lots of water and being proactive is usually a better course of exploration prior to seeing a doctor as a doctor will tell you to wait it out, block the pain or let them cut you. That MIGHT be the best thing, but if something less intrusive will solve your problem... you might want to explore that first. Plus, if you have to pay for all your medical, it's probably cheaper too.

Prawn Season. That's going to stick in my head.
I think my answer to everyone at work today will be "It's Prawn Season."
11a-8/9p: Job deadline stress, my section is understaffed lately and everyone wants their crap printed yesterday. Pro'lly have to muck out the plate processor today, and the company refuses to buy gloves that fit right. I love the smell of bitching in the morning. Smells like victory!
10p-unconsciousness: Read some William Gibson, bang on drums, not think about Nur Ein.

Oh boy. Today.
Well, yesterday my toilet backed up and overflowed. Plunging doesn't help. So today I went to Wal-Mart to use the bathroom/buy more paper towels, but Wal-Mart's bathrooms are closed due to remodelling. So I went to Meijer. But they had no soap, so that was gross.
Now I'm waiting for a plumber to arrive so I don't have to leave the house every time I have to poop.
Later I need to study for my Spanish final and also my Holocaust final.

Today's song choice = <a href="
http://glenncase.blogspot.com/2007/05/d ... tml">Lazlo Bane - "Overkill"</a>
On the "to do" list:
* Continue to listen to and rank Nur Ein entries
* Lay down vocals for a Captain S related song
* Continue the cassette to CD transfer that is now half done.
* Sort out the recording mess that could affect the already slow progress of the Half Racks CD project.
The only thing I really accomplished yesterday was going to my brother-in-law's graduation. His small child was in the audience and being a good and quiet baby until someone sounded air horns at the ceremony, and he did NOT like those loud sounds that made him cry.
I've got a good idea of which Nur Ein entry songs I like, and which ones I don't, but I still have to put them in order. It's not easy.
The FIRST thing I intend to do when I get home is to get that cassette to CD transfer rolling again, because that can go on in the background while I listen to Nur Ein entries further.
I am NOT happy with my primary computer right now. A while back, I was transferring some reel to reels to CD, and I listened back on the recordings. To my horror, there were SKIPS in the audio. Figuring it was a driver issue, I decided to back up the hard drive content, wipe the hard drive and start that computer from scratch. It SEEMED like it was okay... and during this tape to CD transfer? THE SAME PROBLEM IS BACK!
The good news is that I can record on the laptop, and it doesn't have the audio dropout issues. What it DOES have is a background noise that I can't get rid of when I am recording vocals. For an example of this, listen to my song <a href="
http://www.glenncase.com/tm-demo/04-iff.mp3">"I Fell Flat"</a>. Hear that annoying hiss in the background? (NO, NOT the annoying lead vocal, the high pitch whine BEHIND it.)
The BAD part about this, is the Half Racks CD. We have started recording the album, and decided to start over because it wasn't sounding very good. Then we started recording again, and scrapped THOSE recordings too. NOW it's the third attempt, and we recording scratch tracks on this computer that is having the same issues AGAIN. I haven't listened back on the scratch tracks to be sure, but now I am going to be wondering if timing issues in the songs are due to human error, or this freaking computer audio issue. I am not a happy camper at ALL. The Half Racks CD is LONG overdue, and if this causes yet ANOTHER delay, I may need to look at just buying a new computer and taking a sledgehammer to the one that has caused these problems.
UPDATE: Getting at least 10 inches of my hair cut off this afternoon to be donated to <a href="

ROCK!

Hi all.
Listening to the Nur Ein songs while I drive around today. Loving most of them.
Anxiously waiting for tomorrows title and challenge.
Hoping I get to stay for round Ein.
Going to take a jacuzzi when I get home, now that my heater works again, and try to get the little woman liquored up. *winkerz*
Got'a run.

On the way home from work yesterday I discovered that I have a hole in the bottom of my shoe. Its rained 60mm in the last week here, so its a bit wet. Said hole was a pain in the arse, I was squelching as I walked through the train station in Adelaide, sounding like some kind of swamp monster.
So last night I went out and bought some new shoes. I could only find one pair that fit and that I liked, so now I am clomping around in motorcycle style boots. I looked at my wardrobe this morning, and had an epiphany. I am just getting so eccentric. If only I had the cash to back it up.
Legs' sister stayed over last night, she went to a friends birthday party or something. She lives a fair distance away, so I guess thats why she stayed over. I am the partner, so of course I am not privy to what is going on.
But she brought her cat with her. Man, that thing is the devil incarnate. And I am not exaggerating. We have a cat of our own, and her cat is nothing like our cat. Its a small ball of rage and claws. I use a broom to usher it from one part of the house to the next. We have lost 14 brooms so far.
At work now, it looks to be the same shit, different day.

Very nice gesture Glen. I wish I knew about Locks Of Love when I shaved my head.
By the way, you should cut your goatee. It looks like a gay dude.

Funny thing is I HAD a mustache and goatee that I shaved off shortly before my hair appointment.
