Greeting, fighters.... I discovered SongFight somewhere on the interweb while I was on The Google. Figured I'd put on my gloves and fight a bit. I'm looking forward to all the "Evil April" songs being posted.... it should be educational, right? right?! meh... I'm going back to work now....

Creative Feedback

Oh, I snooped around these forums for quite a bit already - so I'm definitely aware of what I'm getting myself into. Honestly, I'm looking forward to receiving creative feedback from all you SongFighters here in the forums. Whether the feedback is positive or negative, I'll benefit a lot better than playing songs for family and friends, who will say that any song is good, no matter how awful it may be.

Welcome, I used to live in Williamsburg. We enjoyed Plan 9 Records and such. Used to fly out of Richmond all the time.

After giving your song a good triple listen, I hope you'll come back & fight again. It's got a good gen-x feel. Just out of curiosity, what are you using for the drums?
Alesis SR-16

Thanks for listening to the tune, Signboy. The "drums" are done with an old (relatively speaking) Alesis SR-16. I have rhythmically-challenged legs/feet - so playing on a real kit is always a disaster for the kick and high-hat. I don't even know if Alesis still makes a product like the SR-16, but if they do, I'd recommend it simply on it's ease of use.

I've used the Alesis HR-16 for years. I've always liked how easy it is to use, plus the more time you put into it, the more real you can get the drum tracks. I switched to the BFD drum program around the first of this year. It was hard to learn at first, but now it's a snap. It uses real drummers for the hits, so it sounds great in my opinion.
Where is this song you guys are talking about? I'd like to hear your drum programming.
Where My Song Be At?!

Actually, that's a really good question. The "Evil April" songs aren't posted on the SF! homepage yet (unless my browser cache is retarded). Signboy, how were you able to find my version of "Evil April"?
Concerning my SR-16 (lack of) skills on "Evil April", there isn't much to the drum track on that particular tune. Maybe if an uncoming fight title begs for a heavy prog rock song to be written, I might bust out my Mike Portnoy skills, ha ha....
