Email scam fun.

I decided to sell a bunch of stuff on ebay recently, and just my luck, I have some asshole trying to scam me. Ebay deleted the listing for a PSP I was selling, because, according to them, the 'winning bid' was made from an account that was 'compromised' (in english, some shitstain hacked someone's account to do paypal scams through)
Fine, I'm a bit bummed that my first selling experience in 6 years or so goes badly, but whatever, I can relist it, no harm done. Well, not 20 minutes after I get the email from ebay, I get an email from the username of the hacked account saying something to the effect of "IS OKAY I FIX WITH EBAY ALL GOOD SEND ITEM TO NIGERIA'

I forward this to ebay (and paypal) and ignore it, mostly.

I get another one, from a different addy, much to the same effect. Forwarded. Ebay replies that yes, this is an obvious scam, we're looking into it, etc. (I'm not holding my breath) And then another one, and just now, another one. By now, I'm pretty sick of getting Nigerian scam emails, right? So I do the only thing I can think of, I fight back. Below, for your reading pleasure is the last email. (The one I replied to) What do you think?

Do you think I’m an idiot? Seriously, do you? From the first email you sent me, I was forwarding them directly to ebay and paypal. They have replied that you are an obvious scammer, and all measures are being taken to bring legal action. I’ve been on the internet for over 10 years now, and in all that time, I have never seen such a poorly executed scam. I’m not sending you the fucking PSP. This should have been clear from the start, when I didn’t respond to you. Stop emailing me. Seriously. Do you even realize how much of a piece of shit you are, trying to prey on people who are honest and possibly naïve? Unfortunately for you, I’m quite savvy in internet matters, and now it’s only a matter of time before you’re in jail. Do you know what they do to people like you in jail? Just saying.

Your best move right now would be to cancel all your email addresses, move to another town, and never go on the internet again, but I think we both know that you’re too fucking stupid to do the right thing.

In any case, DON’T EVER EMAIL ME AGAIN. You will regret it, motherfucker.

Sincerely, The Guy You Didn’t Scam

Hi Mate,
I would like to inform you that the payment has now been sent and the money
has been deducted from my account, plz get back to me as soon as you are
notified from paypal. I want the item to be shipped asap and i will like to
have the tracking number. Also i want you to send the shipment tracking
number to paypal customer care at paypalpaymentcustomer_care@emailaccount.com.
once they
verify the shipment they will credit your account.
Hope to read from you asap
Here is the shipping address
Name: Otaigbe Blessing
Address: #42 Babalola Obisesan Off Ososami Road
City: Ibadan
State: Oyo State
ZipCode: 23402
Country: Nigeria
Tel: +2348077836109
I want the item to be shipped by USPS Global Mail Express Service 3-5days

for security reasons, paypal will have to verify the shipment of the item
before they can get the money credited to your account, because some
sellers will receive money and they will not ship out the item, which i
have also fallen a victim, so try and get the item shipped immediately and
email them the shipment tracking number.

It would be a waste of our effort as it wouldn't accomplish anything much. Like threatening the guy with jail time; y'all know that's never gonna happen. A boy can dream, though. A boy can dream.

Well, hopefully he's having dreams of getting simultaneously raped and stabbed in the neck by large, angry Nigerian prisoners right now. Nighty night!

I kind of felt funny about that, but did it anyway. Changed, now. Although I really can't get enough Viagra spam.

Yeah yeah yeah. There's a fine line between quick copy'n'paste and anal retentive. Ask Puce, he knows about anal retentive.

PS: Puce, :D

[edit] Hey, sober, lose any money gambling online lately? Just wondering.

yeah, he's untouchable...BUT

what I think would have been funnier, not tell him that you knew it was a scam. Let paypal do their thing, so he'll think that you accepted the money and moved it out of the account. Or accepted the check and shredded it. Then promise to have the PSP out to him in like a weeks time.

Then when it doesn't get there (because you didn't send it) and he doesn't get the 'difference' sum (if that in fact is the type of scam it was). Just keep stalling. Like, oh yeah... I was late getting to work and didn't have time to send it, yadda yadda...

Just frustrate the living hell out of him until he finally gives up. At least you will have annoyed him as much as he's annoyed you. That would be the only way to get justice in this matter.

I think we should flood this email with hundreds of thousands of real-looking tracking numbers. He wouldn't be able to distinguish between the fakes, and the potential scams he may have going on. (note: the domain in that address has nothing at all to do with paypal)
