Yesterday was a horrible day in Nivland as after quite a struggle to keep her alive, one of our guinea pigs has passed on. Ashes was second guinea pig and my wife is devastated to lose her. Then to top it all off I got a terrible migraine that knocked me out of commission for all of last night. Here's hoping to turn my weekend around. Maybe I'll do some painting, I haven't done that in a while.

And a big thanks to everyone who enjoyed "The Other Night I Dreamt Of Knives"!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Niv. I really hope your weekend turns around.

My weekend's been pretty good so far. Last night Phil and I put up the curtains that I bought a few weeks ago. Then, once the curtains were up, we decided to rearrange the living room. The space we gained is incredible! I don't know why we didn't have it arranged like this the whole time! We started talking paint colors... it's like my home improvement dream might be on it's way to coming true.

Today is work on Nur Ein, put up the bamboo blinds up on the porch, and get laundry done. After the kids go to bed, I'm sure Phil and I will watch some shows and hang out, or probably record vocals for Nur Ein...

What's your favorite SongFight song from your own archive?

I really like the Hell Yeahs - Brand New Car or Piece of My Heat or From this Day On or In the Ditch or Hold This For Me ...crap, I guess I can't pick just one!!

Hell Yeahs in the Nur Ein, huh? Things are already picking up.

My fave song from my own archive is "Ellis Island" by s-tokyo-river-god. One thing that has always plagued me at SF is bad production and this was the first song that I produced and no one complained. So for that it holds a special place in my heart.

I have tomorrow off from both jobs. I'd be crazy not to go out tonight...but I'm trying to cut back on my drinking. BUT, a band has invited me out to a place called New World Brewery. So whats an old boy supposed to do. I did ride my bike to work so maybe I deserve to go out and have a pint or two.

My favorite...I don't have A favorite... it all depends on mood:

Top 3:
1. Accelerator
2. Honeymoon in Polynesia
3. Spring of Teal

We had a spontaneous trip to the park! It's such a beautiful day and the wind was perfect, so we decided to take the kids to fly the new Spongebob kite. It was great! Then the kids played and we stopped at the DQ for burgers and hot dogs. Yum!

QOTD: my fave KA song would be either "Toronto Star" or "High Enough." "High Enough" is the one that is the one that is the most "about the real me," "Toronto Star" is just a fun song.

So far today: got the dogs walked in time to watch the Monaco F1GP live on Speed TV. Played bass for the band at church and collected some more information I'll need to put together the new songbooks (lyric books for the congregation). Went over to my Mom's for Sunday dinner, watched some of the Indy 500 and then some of a Diamondbacks game. Back home now, need to make a grocery run today and beyond that we'll see.

Sorry to hear about Ashes, Niv, I know it's been tough times lately for your family.

I think it's Rattle, or if it's my collabs perhaps DB&tI "Chaos vs. Order". Or maybe that's "Goodbye Monster" instead... not sure.

Getting in a little late. Just got back from a show at a local campground. I don't feel like starting a new thread though, so chalk this one up to yesterday. :)

But really, I wanted to offer my condolences to Niveous. One thing my kids have yet to deal with is the loss of a pet (we have 2 cats), and I do not look forward to that day.

And I wanted to answer the QOTD: My favorite song from my own SF archive is Big Disco.

Bought a kitchen at IKEA. Yeah, a whole kitchen.

Favorite song for the OctoArchive might be Acid Mouth right now. I am just re-learning it for Atlanta, and I like it a lot.

Sorry to hear about Ashes, Niv. We also have lots of animal family members including Guinea Pigs. Our oldest Guinea, DJ Cavy-R, past away of old age about two months ago. He is the Father of our other Guinea Pigs. He is greatly missed.

Yesterday was a busy one at Casa De Trip
My guest vocalist couldn't make it
I spent the time bouncing tracks and mixing
Although an odd song, it's pretty dark and groov'n
Today is vocal completion day
Should be interesting
BBQ here tonight, so all must be completed by 3:00ish
I'm sure it will turn into a midnight studio session

QOTD:
I've only been entering here since November
But one of my favorites is Tw3rp.
Not because of the rockattitude, but because of how it changed me
It was a first for me to try a spoken word type song
I was a little nervous hearing my talking voice in a song for some reason
But it opened up a new way of thinking, recording and arranging music for me, so I owe that song, and SF, for pushing me in a new direction for a change
Funny that I never took the turn towards that style of playing
I've always had this funky, jazz rock thing buried deep inside that sneaks out every so often.
In my own way that is, so it's not very apparent.
Well, enjoy your Monday off people
Don't eat too many burgers and weenies :P

Also, thank you to the men and women that gave their lives for this great country. Image
Live, Love, ROCK!
