The Fightmasters have decided that since this is the fifth anniversary of Postcard that they'll take several months before posting the songs and then disappearing without a trace.

Better late than never. You have completely re-imagined the song, and I like what you did with it. I dare say it is worth the wait, and I'm kinda glad that you were late with it, because I got a bonus version of the song from <a href="http://www.c-hack.com/mp3/bad_attraction.mp3">The Black Hat</a> as a result.

Okay, here are my reviews for Sugar Shaker:

Molten Lava
Not bad, not bad, but it isn't really danceable. I mean, drum and bass requires you actually use drum and bass. But the female vocals are awesome, especially in the 2nd bridge.

Five minutes into this, I didn't like it, but three minutes later, I loved it. Then you started doing that thing with the cowbell, and I wanted to kill you. But the minibike engine revving? I want to have your children. And you can have mine.

Silvia Platt and the Electric Moonies
Kind of a Devil-Wears-Prada vibe, but altogether solid, especially considering that none of you are native English speakers. On the negative side, "fuck fuck fuck/fuck fuck fuck" isn't much of a lyric, when you look at it out of context.

Um, I DID use drums. And bass. I really don't understand why you have to be so mean and talk to me like I'm an IDIOT. I studied MUSIC at COLLEGE and I think I know what drum and bass requires. Thank you for the review, but next time try to be a little NICER.

HaHa, I know I was certainly dancing.

Adam Adam Ant - Maybe I just don't "get" this. The first section of this song sounds like a 2-year-old banging on a keyboard. It's not my thing.

Big Dumb Jerks - I like the idea. I like the beat. I think another instrument (or two) could have been added though, without compromising the overall percussive feel.

Bondi Cigar - Instantly dance-able from the start - nice! Light on lyrics, but what dance song isn't? I already know that I'd like to listen to this again.

Calc0s - This one gets almost the same review as Bondi Cigar. But in a dual between these two songs, I'd have to give the slightest of slight edges to Bondi Cigar.

Caravan Ray - I kinda dig this, but I'm not sure why. My only complaint is that I wish there was more of a distinction between verse and chorus.

Cynthia Size and The Eclectic Spoons - Good beat. This could be a remixed Bjork tune if I didn't know any better. Good changes throughout the song.

Diamond Geezer - Great vocal melody right away. I came into these reviews thinking that I would definitely vote for something I'd hear at a club.... but this could get my vote in the end.

Eddie Lance - Axel Foley wants his theme song back. Bad Eddie. No donut.

Electro Martyr - This one ended way too soon. I want more! (But maybe that was the point, eh?)

Flvxxvmflorvm - Is this a long lost Marilyn Manson track from the 80's?

Giant Snail - I'm sucker for that Eiffel 65 vocal effect. I love this. Can I buy your cd?

Hostess Mostess - Has a nice retro groove to it. Your vocals have this weird (but good) dancey Robert Palmer thing going on. I like this one.

Ip - I like the octave vocal track on this one. Reminds me a bit of Justin Timberlake - but is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Kabuto - The bass line immediately reminds of of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. But now the vocals remind a bit of the Phunk Junkeez. I'm tappin' my foot and noddin' my head.

King Arthur - You made someone who usually listen to lyrics (me) want to listen to these lyrics. I really have no complaints about this one. Good job.

Levelnivelo - This reminds me way too much of "Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard". Meh.

MC Eric B - I like the verse better than the chorus. The chorus could use a bit more punch. Not a bad effort though.

MC Paul Denyer - If you're going to rap, make sure the vocal volume is turned up enough to hear the lyrics. Did I just hear you rap about a "tit"? Dunno. Maybe I'm making up my own lyrics in my head.

Melvin - Rivers Cuomo done gone solo and done gone wrote an alterna-dance-rock tune. I like this, but I constantly hear so much Weezer influence in your tunes. With that said though, I still look forward every fight for new Melvin tunes.

Micky Finn - What kind of frilly-panty-wearin' person goes by the name "Micky Finn" anyway? A nice mix of retro early 70's vocal harmonies and a contemporary adult-alternative sound. If the lyrics was expanded just a bit, this could be a radio hit.

Paul Rey - This is a mess.

Project-D - Not great. Not horrible. Sorry, I don't know what else to say.

Satin Tails - Would make great soundtrack music. - maybe could be used in "Oceans 14".

Seamus Collective - This sounds like the same thing over and over again. Not much distinction between the different parts of the song.

Sheail - Bored in the verse. Interested in the chorus. This is another one that has a cool retro quality to it. Now where's that chorus again?

Stateside Menace - Ah, a rocker in a dance competition. (I won't deduct any points though.) This has a cool not quite garage / not quite arena rock sound. - almost like late-period (ha) Stone Temple Pilots.

Steve Durand - Dios mio! Squirrel Nut Zippers b-side right here, ladies and gentlemen.

Weakest Suit - Another rocker. If I recall, most of your previous entries were acoustic. I'm going to have to go back and listen to decide if I like you unplugged or plugged better. Hmm....

Wes Davis - This is one of your better tunes (as much as I can remember at least). I don't know specifically what I dig about it, but it's good. Well done.

White Hat - Very nice guitar work. There's something in there that reminds me of unplugged Zeppelin. I like.

Zipline - Well, this batch of songs ends with a turd. Sorry - this is another tune that's just a big mess.

just because you don't see the songs doesn't mean they are not there.
the second part of the challenge is finding the songs in order to listen to/review them.
i found them last night and downloaded them, just haven't had a chance to listen yet.
