a friendly pre-pre-fight

Post by jeff robertson »

If the next title happens to be announced today, there's a chance I might be in. Otherwise, it's the Song Fight Hole for me.

A threat/promise: to use Finale more in this or whatever is the next fight I do.

I'm going to die Sunday, November 14th 2049. One day after I celebrate my 43 anniversary as a Song Fight member. One day celebrating with a little cone hat, blowing a party favor, the next day getting cremated and stuffed into an urn just like I dream of Jeannie, except all ashy with no cleavage.

Wednesday, October 26, 2044.

I'll be 73.

So hopefully by then my kids will be out of the house so that I can submit a song to each fight.

In the meantime, I have an almost-complete song for Metafilter's music challenge ("superhero" is the theme, started working on it this morning) and while "A Friendly Reminder" completely fits the tone of the song purely by accident, I can't cram the lyric in anywhere -- so I'll see if I can find the time to write a separate song for here. Being able to submit one song to both would have been quite a time-saver, though.

I like this title. I'm foreseeing something a little better than the train wreck of a screamo epic I submitted for this week.

Damn! I'm done and dead in 15 years? (does BMI considers muscle mass?) ! Let's see 41/3 ...==...1 song every 13.6 years? ...so the next one will probably be my last one.

No Damn IT!.. I'm in this week regardless of its suckatude:
Making music to fight mortality -oh baby-singing for eternity -mm humm baby- rockin' without longevity -yes chile- adle minded musing for all to see. ..... Im in this week ( uh maybe)

Not really lyric archive material, (a) because it's not a complete song, and (b) it pretty much sucks. Part of me thinks it could be redeemed if done in the style of Tom Waits' "What's He Building In There?" but most of me knows it's crap.

So I share!

A friendly reminder
that you should be kinder
'cuz I'm keeping a binder on you

A string on your finger
that says "if I linger,
it's only because you've been true"

My little collection
of every transgression
remains my possession of note

And though I've been tracking
your qualities lacking
I know that I'm in the same boat

Now that I've got that 5-minute rhyming dictionary festival out of my head, I can go to sleep.

I'm out of here on March 2, 2039. I'll be going on 73. Now, how did you other close to being geezer guys outlast me? I'll tell you. Because it says that I'm obese! I may be far from svelte, but obese? I'll diet just out of spite. Pegor must be HUGE! By the way, great work, Ghost of King Arthur: I'm a fan!

Minty - I was tossing around some vaguely treatening lyrics last night, kinda lame, but if I can smoosh something in with yours, may I use them? I'll try not to drag your name through the mud although that's not a guarantee! :)

I'm absolutely not porky, even by deathclock standards, but I got 73 years as well. Must be something about the birthdate; perhaps statistically people born in certain months die sooner or something. Or maybe my IP address is fat...

Paco, if you can make something good out of those lyrics, you're a better man than me. Have at it!

You won't find many that'll back that one up! Thanks, I'll poke around with them over the weekend.

Also: It looked like your answer was in my signature line.

Also again: I mean no offense to anyone who may be obese. I know I'm no better than anyone else and we all is what we is. Now let's go for a walk.

Deathclick.com only takes into account a few different factors and is not that accurate. My site at http://www.deathforecast.com is much more detailed and much better.

I'd die before I could ever answer all of those question. :P

Some of those question look like they are designed to spam or hit me with adware or something.

No, no spam or emails or anything like that. The site just makes money from the banner ads on it.
