Maybe not - GWB's little bum-chum Johnny Howard is history. Australia will always (for the foreseeable future, anyway) be the USA's lickspittle - but hopefully not as bad as we have been for the last 8 years. (It is so embassassing that I am ashamed of my own country but look with admiration at New Zealand - and they fuck sheep). APEC was a complete disaster for our government. Chances are we may even have a new PM next week. Government ministers are shuffeling their feet and looking awkward whenever they are asked if Howard should remain as leader.
This all comes on top of the revelations a few weeks ago that our Leader of the Opposition was found drunk in a NY strip club while overseas on government business a few years ago. Since that revelation - his popularity in opinion polls has increased! We all want to vote for a dude that gets pissed in strip clubs!
