Starting a music video today
Trying to get clips from a DVD
Looking for a program to get around the anti copy thing
Might just D/L it if I figure out how
Always something standing in my way to greatness, lol
After being on vacation for a week, I decided not to get on the Internet the whole week. I did take my laptop for business reasons, but I did not get on line here at SF or my other haunts the whole week. I did feel like a smoker needing a cig a few times when we were relaxing in the Hotel room, but we just did other things, lol.
Question Of The Day: Are you addicted to the Internet? If so, would you admit it?

I said yes. But I don't think you can be addicted to the internet. That's like being addicted to electricity.
I'm addicted to news, and the internet is the fastest way to get hold of as much as possible. If I'm not on the internet I buy papers and listen to the radio. But I'd rather be online. Especially when there could be a new fight posted at any moment.

qotd: I am addicted. It's all I do really. It makes me not do my homework. But it's also a vital tool, so I'm ok with the addiction.
Today I had lunch with my parents. I don't get to see them very often. Then they bought me bananas.

check out archive.org it won't have the movie you are trying to rip...but it has movies you are allowed to use. (

qotd: Yes. It's not only one of my main modes of communication, entertainment, and source of information, it is also my job. (Tampabay DSL / PBX-change which is DSL and VOIP phone service) My other job relies heavily on information from the internet and utilizes remote databases for it's easily updated interface. We're also a dot com where our information gathering can be read. Without the internet, I'd be flipping burgers.
I also like tacos.

Thanks Hobz, but I need a specific movie. I'm "hopefully" D/Ling it right now using utorrent, from a place called Piratebay. Someone gave me the links and I've never used either before, so I'm not sure if it works. I did purchase the DVD, so I'm D/Ling a "back up copy" guilt free.

Finally took the car in to be repaired. The repaired we had to use was booked up until today, so we have been busing it for the last few weeks.
QOTD: Oh my god, yes.

That's a pretty funny definition of "addicted." Without heroin, I'd be flipping burgers. Nope, doesn't work. Unless "flipping" is some sort of euphamistic curse, and being "burgers" is like the having the shakes. That would make sense.
Now, I'll stop posting on the SF boards and reading my blogs and responding to emails and googling that trivia question I couldn't answer from that podcast I just listened to, and get back to...wait...what was I supposed to be doing today?

The difference is the need for better income. Heroin is addictive and not relative to flipping burgers. The internet is addictive and directly relates to my income. (that I NEED) I guess I'm arguing my addiction to income really. However, I spend a large amount of my life online...so when you incorporate the two...the 'I can quit anytime I want' doesn't apply. I simply CAN'T quit the internet...er as to say...not without HUGE withdraw symptoms. (if you will)
Now, isn't there a blog or something you can check on!?!!?

I am enjoying my day off from work.
I'm addicted to the Internet and simultaneously burnt out on it. I always feel like I need to establish some real-life friendships since the online ones are pretty hollow, but then the online ones are what have always born fruit while the real-life ones tend to be transitory. It's a bit annoying that I never seem to see any of my friends in meatspace though, especially with how many people I know are in the area (including several former coworkers, various friends from online places, and, of course, Songfighters).

Fluff, start a weekly poker game or find one at your company. I don't golf, but that seems to be a huge outdoor group activity for most of my friends. Also, you seem to like the karaoke, or maybe a bowling league. Go do a weekly thing with your sister......[Hoblit]is she hot? Maybe I'll drive up[/Hoblit].

I see my sister too much as it is.

nice. carefully worded. Rearrange the words and adding just one ('of') you have:
"I see too much of my sister as it is."
That would have left something to play with... but your quote there is too much of a stretch for me.

The ratio of relative addictiveness for the internet and heroin is probably somewhat close to the ratio of their relative profitability.
"Without heroin, I'd be flipping burgers." Probably true for many.
