well hi. I call my "band" (it's just me) No Horse Town, and I just submitted a song (I think. Hmm.. I hope it worked) for "Baby, Be Quiet". I heard about SongFight prolly a year ago, but never checked it out until now, and I'm hoping it will inspire me to write more. Well, anyway, just thought I'd announce my presence. This is definitely one cool idea.

Welcome!

I live in a no horse town. It's awful. Do you, or do you just like the sound of it?

Is your music good? Err..what a silly question. How can you evaluate that objectively? Here's a better one: Are you proud of the work that you've submitted? If you've done your best, and plan to continue in that direction, you ought to be very welcome here.

I'm proud of the music, though I'm not really the best ah... sound engineer... in the world, so the quality might be a little lacking.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, which could be a no horse town by some standards or a happenin' joint by others. I think it's OK.

I really liked Roymond's song for "My Darling Ruin", so good job there, fella.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

Lo-fi sound is a lot more forgivable than being bad at songwriting. After all, there was a lo-fi movement of indie rock, although there was never a poor-songwriting movement...although some might disagree. It's also easier to fix. It's much easier for us to teach you how to mix than how to write hooks. Of course, if Melvin would just teach a master class, we'd all be set, on both fronts.

I think I've been to Albuquerque, at least for a few minutes. Either way, it's definitely got a lot more horses than my town.

Well, I just got back from ABQ, and I can say with certainty that there are horses there. This guy could be up to something shady! I also saw goats, a blue heron, a roadrunner, giant cockroaches, and one lizard. Beware!

I grew up in Albuquerque. Yes, lots of horses there. It's actually a pretty big metro area too... close to a million people.

EspaƱola or Jemez, on the other hand...

thanks, fella! Listening to it again now, I realize a lot of the "drums" got kinda drowned out, but I'm glad you like it... I'm gonna try to balance things a little better with "Night Terrors". Wow! A compliment! Pay dirt! Yeah!
