Replace the $50 window and move on. Shit happens and glass is brittle. Stress allotment should be reserved for more important things.
On a plus note, have you ever had a window replaced? Have you ever had a guy come out and put a new pain in, or taken the frame out and taken it to window place? This is your chance to experience something that you haven't yet. If you have done any of the above, now is your chance to do it again!. But this time with experience. Next time, you'll damn near be an expert.

why do you have to explain it? It sounds like you were out and came home to find your window broken. Isn't that an open/shut case?

Maybe it was those guys who drove by and threw a banana at your chest, or whatever it was, a while back. Or just some fun loving frat boys: aren't they cute?

Yeah. My window is gone. I came home and found it this way. I swept the glass outside. My landlord is going to fix it.
This is just weird. I think someone tried to break in and probably got scared when the security light came on.
I was just worried that my landlord would try to accuse me of being drunk and doing it myself or something.
Muncie sucks.

Spread your misfortune around - with interest. It will make you feel better. Therefore, go break somebody else's window AND shit in their letterbox. Its all part of the circle of life.

I should definitely spread the love.
My front door has a wooden board instead of a window now. It looks totally ghetto or something.
