Delusions of Grandeur!?

Post by sabbacc108 »

I actually first entered a SongFight back in Late to a Funeral.
I originally intended to try and enter every week.
Ha.

For those of you who may recall, my entry for LTAF was without a doubt the shoddiest entry in the multiverse-- recorded on a hand-held tape recorder and then transfered to the computer, it was a grueling five-and-a-half minutes long, and showcased my first-ever attempt at playing chords to accompany myself whilst singing.

The most embarrassing thing about it is that, at the time, I was incredibly (almost unhealthily) proud of my handiwork.

Needless to say, my shame since then has discouraged me from rearing my misshapen head here again...

...until now.

A friend of mine has been letting me use his basement recording space once every week or so, and just the other day, a thought struck me:

(after recovering from the blow) "Hey...Song Fight!"

So I checked the page, saw the title, and thought, "maki"?
So I checked the boards, and thought, "Hey! Why don't I do a song in Japanese?" (I'm currently studying the language in school)
So I did.

I just listened to your song for 'Late to a Funeral'. I'm pumped to hear what you sound like with non-muddy production. Welcome back.

I'm (once again) pretty proud of my handiwork, though it's a little short.
My vocals are also not quite so hot; I'm sure I could've gotten a better take, but I only had a single day to record.
C'est la vie!
