I'm guessing something like this wouldn't work, but I happen to be a home made movie conisuer. We use them for school projects ect... Maybe I'm crazy but I thought a thing like SongFight but with videos would be fun... I don't know. Anyone have anything to say about this. Or I'll just go back to my small corner and cry, like usual.

It's an interesting idea. Kinda mixing Songfight with it's lost long cousin Filmfights.

There already is, or was, something just like that, and occasionally they'd come over here and ask someone to write some music for their movie. Anyone remember that site?

I would definitely be down with seeing some videos, but I'm thinking more of videos that go with songs from SongFight..that would be fantastic. I'm workin' on one right now, it's a bit time consuming for sure..but it should be pretty good when it's done. Or not...first one ya know...
Or even what if people make a video for some other SongFighter? That'd be fun too. I'm sure there are some creative handycammers out there...

glenn has assembled a couple of these for people's songs, and they turned out really cool. i'd like to see some more of this going on if people felt so inclined.

Good to know, it looks like we're going to get started on our movie for filmfights this week. Thank you all for the tip.

I've said it before, but I offer such things as well. Lots of instrumentals on my site.

I actually did two songs for a movie project a guy here at work was doing. (as well as loops for some other video)
http://chris.hoblit.net/sound.html
threat p1 & p2 are instrumentals for a video a friend was doing called Pawn. He only made a trailer basically to enter a contest. The actual film was never made.

Here's my idea. Obviously, films take a while to make. Why not combine the "Song War" (extended songfight) idea with filmfight. Give people 4 weeks to make a song and a video (?) to go with it. yes? no? go home? I guess maybe people with more A/V knowledge than I have can help us hopeless souls out. It must be real EZ nowadays to edit video, link it to audio, etc. I will show you the Psychedelic Yak Trainers video "Don't Go Away" for a taste of some 1991 old school technology if you like. It's me, Mike, and Matt. Good stuff.

Did I ever tell you how much I love that moody "Threat" piece? I think I did, on somesongs. But let me mention here, for the benefit of others, it's an awesome piece of soundtrack work. Check it out.

We have done 2 movies for
http://www.filmfights.com using music from people on songfights. One was a good experience. One was not.
Here's the one we did with Chris Ryder of Pray For Mojo, a Songfight member. He was a really nice guy.

This had to be a continuous shot movie, and Pray For Mojo's song "Fire Back" worked great. Many thanks to him.
We're always looking to work with songfighters in the future.

Brad is also a very nice guy who made a very cool film that I was proud to be part of in a small way. I mean, all I did was say "yes". Did you ever get "Deadly Passions" entered into those contests?

All of my music/art/writing is also available for video/sampling/etc. purposes, what with being under a Creative Commons by-nc-sa license (meaning people can do whatever they want with it as long as they credit me, don't make money on it, and also release the work under by-nc-sa).
