Personally, I like it.

i like it a lot. the bone-dry production is pretty interesting, it makes the whole recording sound pretty rehearsal space-esque.

i just got my discbox...it's about six pounds. two vinyl records (it's a four side, 180 mm, 45rpm job), two cds (the album and b-side), and two books: one vinyl-sized book with the artwork, and a smaller book with lyrics and liner notes.
yeah, yeah, it was like $80, but i don't feel cheated. i can't wait to take this home and crank it on my turntable.

I'm still waiting for my discbox to arrive. I got the friendly email about it being "despatched" [sic, silly British spellings] and they said it'd take anywhere from 5-18 days, which means I could be waiting as long as the 20th.
Oh well, I'm quite looking forward to the second disc, not to mention being able to rerip the first disc in something better-sounding than 160kbps CBR.

I'd be interested in comments on how the vinyl sounds. Do they do anything different these days? Does it sound different, say, in the case of drums, when you start out digital and end up on vinyl? Probably not to the regular Joe like me, but a slight twist on the old analog vs. digital debate.

i actually haven't had a chance to listen to the vinyl just yet, i had an interview last night and sort of collapsed when i made it home. the second disc has some pretty choice moments on it, though. my one complaint is that they didn't include lyrics for it or an lp for the remaining eight songs when they're clearly packaging it as one album.

I don't even have a turntable. I was expecting to just display the discbox as artwork in some way. (I guess I need to finally get a proper bookshelf.)
