I played way too much on my brother's Gamecube today, but hey, it's break, and that's what break is for. That is, if it's not for catching up on work.

I did meet an old friend for lunch, and we browsed Barnes & Noble for a while. I didn't buy any books, but I did find, in the music section, an album of early Woody Allen stand-up, so what the hell.

Question of the Day: Who's your favorite comedian?

I really like this guy named Brett Leake who's got muscular dystrophy. Brainy comedy. Also, The Smothers Brothers and Bill Cosby (though he was better years ago than he is these days).

Dane Cook is always entertaining and funny. Brian Reagan is in the tops for me.

The following are all very delicious:

Patton Oswalt
Lewis Black
Jerry Seinfeld
George Carlin
David Cross
Dane Cook
Brian Posehn

I couldn't really pick one. There could very well be more, but I can't think of them right now. I really like comedy, but I suck at it. It's not as easy to practice as music. Maybe we should have Comedy Fight!

Okay. I remembered who I was leaving off.

Mitch Hedberg.

QOTD: Early Bill Cosby with Steve Martin a close second. I've also always really liked Steven Wright.

Ross Noble, Shaun Micallef, Mick Molloy. Shaun had one of the best sketch shows of all time.

Yes, yes and yes (especially with Tony Martin).

I would also add Roy & HG
And one of my all-time favourites, Norman Gunston

All I can think of is Chappelle. I don't watch a lot of comedy.

I agree with whoever said Steven Wright. That guy's comedy is perfect.

Today I woke up at a friend's house and could hear everyone who lived there in the other room. It was weird. I stayed in the bed awake for a while and didn't know what to do. Then I went out and they were watching the Casper movie on tv and I watched some of it with them and make weird comments that they thought were funny. After about 25 minutes I said Thanks for the bitchin' party and then left. I don't know where my scarf went. I walked home without it and went back to bed until 5 pm.

Last night was fun and weird.

Now I am at work and I am trying to read stories that people in my class wrote but I'm struggling to focus. I can't think of anything to say about the stories.

I don't have Spanish class this week.

I'm looking forward to going home on Wednesday. I haven't been home since June.

He also has the best news related comedy programme on a Wednesday night.

You guys mentioned most of my favorites. I like to go out and see some of these guys when they come to town.

Dane Cook is by far my favorite comedian. He's not really telling jokes as much as he's telling funny stories with incredible energy. He's the funny guy at the lunch table. Just professionally. (and way better than most) I think he has potential to be really really huge and has a great career ahead of him. I left the club with a headache because I laughed so hard the night I saw him live.

I loved Mitch Hedburg too. Just loved his brand of comedy. I like him in the same way I like Steven Wright. Just weird humor and when he gets ya, he gets ya. Both had a very strange delivery that added to their disguised charisma. At one point in the show he made a toast and suggested we all have a drink. He was dismayed when we all booed...and asked wha? Someone explained to him in the front that we had not been informed of last call and they were no longer serving drinks to the audience. SO HE BOUGHT TWO BOTTLES OF JACK DANIELS and poured everybody who came up to the stage a little shot of Jack. That was classy.

Jay Mohr. Sure he's done some movies and some SNL but his stand up is pretty dang funny. I could listen to him do Christopher Walken for an hour and never lose interest. When I saw him live he did this awesome sketch about swimming with dolphins.

Others I like (and probably mentioned): Chappelle, Patton Oswald, Nick Shwartson, Steve Martin, and Richard Pryor. I love stand up comedy and there are a bunch of others that I enjoy but these are the people that stand out for me. (even if I can't spell their names correctly)

There's a guy called "W" that's pretty funny now and then. But the other times he's just sort of sad.

I mean like Robin Williams / Steve Martin big.

I think he has some staying power but only time will tell. As long as he can graduate from the stupid slapstick comedy rolls. Comedy is one thing, be funny...it's his primary quality obviously, but sometimes some of these folks can end up in bad comedy after bad comedy. He's proven that he can do more than comedy which means maybe he can do, at the very least, BETTER Comedy films.

I can't stand Dane Cook. He has one joke. He just yells it and people think that's funny. :x
