I honestly don't know what to say.

This internet thing is wild
That is so cool that his song and youtube vid has taken him this far. Hes on a comedy central commercial regularly right now also. It always makes me happy to see even small successes like this, whether I like it or not. More power to him, I hope he banks on it to the max, I know I would.

Hopefully by now he understands that the whole meme is based around ridiculing the sincerity of his first YouTube video.

I think he not only knows that, but is also smart enough to cash in on it. I saw him in a few other interviews, and he is a ph D grad student. He looks at the hype as fun for now and doesn't go on talk shows or any other gig unless it works with his school schedule. Jimmy Kimmel couldn't get him on his show until it worked with his schedule, lol.
