Losing weight/getting in shape

Over the last 4 months, I've lost over 45 lbs of body fat, and put on a few pounds of muscle. I still have a ways to go, but I feel awesome.
Before and after - click only if you want to see a shirtless Sober (you know you do).
The first two months were pure weight loss brought on by extreme calorie deficiency, because I was completely broke and literally could not afford to eat more than 1000 calories/day. That's extremely unhealthy (I lost muscle mass, and my joints suffered), and it took my body over a month to adjust to normal food intake once I had money again.
The last two months have been me working out almost every day for a couple of hours. I have a very structured workout plan, and I eat by a few guidelines, nothing too intense. Just eat good, no simple carbs (sugar), no carbs a few hours before bed, and drink less often. Yoga helps with posture, which instantly makes one look better.
This is one of those 'gaging people's interest' posts, so if no one wants to talk about their health goals, etc., then that's fine. I'd be happy to answer questions about my personal routine, etc., and I'm happy to give advice on yours.

I think it's great, and good for you. I could afford to do the same thing too, as some of the pounds I dropped from no drinking, regular walking routine and a similar diet, are sneaking back up on me. You're a tall guy too, right? I'm 6 foot 2 and probably starting to push 240. You probably got me beat in the looks department, and are like half my age, but if I were to drop to 195, my self confidence would give me a bit o' sparkle that'd have to be reckoned with. (To borrow from Caravan Ray: "Hello, ladies")
Sometimes going a little hungry is good, appreciating life-stuff-wise. I may have to live these words down one day, but you are an inspiration, Sober!

God, another one of those sober rants...
good for you, actually I was going to comment on your new avatar, and how I didn’t believe that was you on the skateboard, as that guy look too skinny to be you, but this explains that.
Cheers to living a healthy lifestyle.

TIK: For cardio, I tend to skateboard early morning or afternoon, as it's a kickass
HIIT. I will also run on the elliptical after my lifting routine, doing a similar HIIT for 30 minutes or so. I don't like treadmills, because I have crappy knees. Racquetball is also an awesome cardio workout, though it really started to get to my shoulder, so I've stopped.
Paco: I'm just over 6'. With a tall build, it's important to put on a few pounds of muscle mass, because that will make weight management down the road effortless. 1 lb of muscle burns 50 calories/day at rest. So if you add 10 lbs of muscle, that's 500/day, or 3500/week (1 lb of fat) you're burning without doing anything. Are you currently on any kind of a routine?
Dre: Thanks. That is indeed me, in my hat which can be seen in the SF.net image archives (SF LA, I think).

Congrats Sober. I looked at the photos even though I did not particularly need to see you shirtless

Nice improvement.
I started doing Weight Watchers again, and I'm having some success with that. Down 12 this time, so far. Actually lost weight the week of Thanksgiving, dunno how that happened. The WW has an online program and more articles devoted to men, which helps some.
I'm also doing a lot more exercise on my elliptical machine at home and playing volleyball. I like the elliptical also because it's easy on the knees and I bang them up enough with vb.
I put on some good arm muscles doing push ups in the morning. I really need to get back to that. Just doing 20 a day made noticeable improvement. However, losing the weight I have already done makes a tangible benefit in my vb jumps. I can block better!

Bill: Do squats! That will make your vertical jump go through the roof, and it will add lean muscle all through your lower body.
There are a few serious weight and strength training programs that involve only a couple of lifts. Generally these are:
Squats
Deadlift
Bench press
Squats get the entire leg and ass, deads get your whole core and back, and bench hits your chest and arms. You must have excellent form for these, so get one session with a personal trainer and have them show you. Those are the only things you need to do to become intensely strong without looking like a freak.

Looks good, Sober. Now just get on an incline bench and start pressing, and some curls. I like how easy it is for me to tell you that, yet I don't work out, in the traditional sense.
By the way, how many tries did it take to pull off that 540? That's a bish on an incline. I skate too, but not so much any more. Pretty much just to show my boys wuz up. They say I skate old, lol. I show how high I can ollie, they show me how much higher they can nollie.
....plus I always seem to hurt myself these days. I like skating on water, it's much softer when I eat shit.

No, but I'm now setting a goal of getting below 200 by my birthday in May. I'll be glad to post before and after pictures then, with shirt most likely, but would probably scare people with just the now.

Please do.
Not to make any of you suckaz mad, but I'm one of those lucky kids with the retardedly fast metabolism. I couldn't get my weight above 165 if I tried, and I'm 6'1. However, I do a few pushups and v sits before nappy time to avoid getting a gut, which has happened before.

HAHAHAHA!!! Oh, you poor, deluded young man!
I was 175 lbs from age 15 until about 26 or 27. I had a body that made men jealous and women wet. Then my metabolism slowed down. Now I'm right on the 200 lbs mark, where I've been for like 4 or 5 years. Yeah, walking instead of driving, working out, etc helps a lot, but I'm too fucking lazy. (And apathetic)

Yeah, I was 135 right out of highschool. I got made fun of by people for being so scrawny. I was at 155 (and very fit) 8 years ago. Then I got an office job and everything changed.
I got UP TO 185 about 6 years ago. I made some changes to my lifestyle and for the last few years I've been between 170 and 180 but usually even at 175 for the most part. Nobody looks at me and says 'fat guy' but I do have a belly and I do need to lose weight in a bad way.
THIS is WITH exercise. ( I ride my bike often ) I need to exercise more and probably make even more of an effort to eat better. I'm 34. I'll be 35 in March. I'm single which is even more pressure to get in shape and trick some hussy into marrying me. (Am I superficial? YES, just like everyone else.)

My chest/tricep day include incline, dumbell press, dips, pec deck, and skullcrushers. Believe me, I'm hitting everything plenty hard.
That 540 was 2nd try for film. I've got my bank spins pretty wired, and can often throw down 900+ with a few tries. Old school represent.
