Wrath of God
Level Nivelo
Dear God, you are divine,
But your will remains unknown
We don’t understand your design
Since you left us alone
We can’t figure out, as a crowd
How to think and do the math
Come out from behind your pretty cloud
And bring back some old-fashioned wrath
Bring on the lightning, bring on the floods
Don’t leave it open to interpretation
Let the rivers run with our sinful bloods
Knock us down to our foundation
Bring on the thunder, bring on the plague
Make your will a great event
Don’t be so aloof and vague
Let us know what to repent
Your laissez-faire is not working
We can’t handle free will
Humanity is confused by you
Should we steal and rape and kill?
What if it’s in your name?
Does that make it all right?
Can we beat a handsome fellow,
And tie him to a fence all night?
Should we stone adulterers?
Or is that just passé?
Shall we beat the foolish ones
That don’t eat fish on Friday?
I don’t trust your priests anymore
They’ve wandered down the garden path
Clear up the confusion, I implore
Bring back the old-time wrath!
Oh Big Daddy in the sky,
Fuck the Rainbow, let us die
We only reap what we should earn
Fuck forgiveness, let us burn
Bring it on, Padre, because we’s tight
I’ve got no hope we can do right
Grab our toys and spank us down
Pour the flood and let us drown
Oh Big Daddy in the sky,
Fuck the Rainbow, let us die
We only reap what we should earn
Fuck forgiveness, let us burn
