Good Les Anchois idea running through my head. Might have to check some old Prince songs---it may have already been written...

Ooh, just did food unit in French, so if I actually focus I might be bale to do a French song for les anchois. Does it get me bonus points if I sing en francais?

Just to save everybody a trip to altavista, "Les Anchois" is french for "That Anchor."

Perhaps you may have heard the amazing story of Mr. Lester Anchois, third-class plumber extraordinaire, co-worker of the well known Mr. Al Right; etc. etc.

I tried to find what "les anchois" meant, and the best I could surmise was that it was anchovies or some type of poisson..

But I probably won't do that one anyway.

some of the more obscure passages:

(1) Minstrels were no doubt a happy lot, and it is not surprising that
France, a cradle of wit and culture, could turn them out in such
numbers that they came and went on an almost predictable schedule.
As one came in the portcullis, another left by the oubliette.

(2) Beaune - town in the Cote-d'Or, 11,000 pop., famed for its wines
and mustard. It is not a port, therefore, why should everyone watch
its docks? Certainly, it does not have any particular reknown as a
center of contraband...

(3) This must refer to the Cote-d'Or, a peerless parish indeed. Rich in
some of the finest vintages in France, and, if we are to believe the
previous line, a great lambing country.

(4) Pet-de-nonne. An extremeley light and fluffy pastry. Although any
decent French housewife would ask for them without hesitation at
her favorite patisserie, delicacy forbids a direct translation here.

I am veering towards 'Block City' - (marcus, take note!) But it won't be the RLS poem set to music. Or maybe it will. Oh yes, a j$ lyrical stormer is forming as we speak. I have failed to impress you with my 'mastery' of French in previous song titles, so 'The Anchovies (Are Taking Over the World)' may have to wait for the 'rare and unreleased' Cashpoint album (which is both rare and unreleased.)

I hate Anchovies. They always seem to appear as if by magic on my pizza. I don't order them. I never order them; and yet there they are.
