This is my first time starting one of these threads. It's extremely foggy outside my building.
QOTD: Do you think there is an unseen evil lurking in the fog?

QOTD: Send someone from the mailroom out for coffee. If they come back; no. If they don't come back; yes. If they bring back the coffee, but then disappear; no if the coffee's bad, yes if it's good.

qotd: This is how Steven Kings books start...so most obviously there is some level of evil within the reaches of the fog. You must send someone out for coffee.
DRC: Bleh. Toilet got fixed this morning and I got to work real late... hungry. Nothing else to report. Carry on.

QOTD: If the guy from the mail room comes back with the coffee in the normal amount of time it should have taken him, but he seems to have a plastic smile that looks permanent, like this >>

run a few tests first.
Test one: Whip out you penis and play air guitar on it to the song Fantasy Girl, by 38 special. If his face
doesn't go from this >>

to this >>

, then don't drink the coffee.
Test 2:
you decide.

Roll Call: Woke up at 4am at The Balsams, having played a double yesterday. Got into the car and headed straight to work (by way of Dunkin' Donuts). It's starting to catch up to me now. A night at home will do me good.
QotD: Evil, probably not. But there's a better-than-even chance of a moose lurking around in it up here.

Yeah!!!!!!!!! Love the question, and know that there is absolutely an unseen evil in the fog. But I am not sure it's evil. I think it is science and chemistry in action. So as far as all creation is concerned, I guess it's not evil, it's just science. Just like psychosis and other sorts of not-so-nice things. It just is. IT is lurking.
Think of it like potential energy, except instead of energy and momentum as in a physics class, we're talking about potential evil. It's in just about everything. When you find something without potential evil, something totally good, pure, and clean, you know it. There's gotta be something, but I just can't think of it right now. I would think puppies and babies of all creatures are void of it, but they're so totally not. And the fog is definitely not.

qotd: Fog is usually dangerous. You don't see creepy people as easily, and you could get run over by a car without even knowing it. So, yes - but I guess it's not "unseen evil" so much as "evil that's more difficult to see". We get a lot of fog here (I live by the river, and it's chilly this time of year)

My allergies are killing me with the Santa Ana winds here in Socal.
Reminded today of why I am convinced it is better for my students to work in class than as homework.
Liked the new Terminator show.
QOTD: I believe that if you believe there is evil lurking in the fog, the evil is of your own construct. I guess that's because I generally don't subscribe to the concept of "Evil." I guess it doesn't help that I generally find fog quite beautiful - but then, perhaps I am evil.

Nah, you're not evil Ross. Evil comes in threes.

QOTD/Weather Rant: It's been really foggy here lately. It was warm, and then rainy and/or foggy. Now it's dry and cold again. Let me explain the Florida winter. It alternates between those two completely erratically and suddenly. It was below 30 degrees the other week, which is insane for coastal FL. There's usually no talk of "layers" of clothing. So it was way colder than we're used to. Citrus was alright, but tomato crops took a big hit. If it were wet, it would have been snowing. But it's never wet and cold simultaneously. The cold is always dry. The rain clouds show up, and it's 20 degrees warmer all of a sudden. It's really a terrible system. So the last week has been a couple days of rain and the rest of the week was terrible fog, while hovering around 70-80 degrees. Two nights ago, it was 60. Last night, it was 50. It seems to have stabilized at around 50 now.
I drove through a few hundred miles of fog last week. I didn't find any evil, but there was a hell of a lot 'FUCK I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING'.

QOTD: The lurking horror was an unsatisfying product release at MWSF, I think. (That happens to also be my DRC.)
Ross: I didn't like the first half of the premiere (the whole setup was so ridiculous) but the second half turned it around and I think it might actually be a decent show after all.
