archive date typos

This is super nitpicky, but in the archive, the fight dates displayed for a couple of the fights are slightly off kilter, and it,y'know, bothers me... wll, actually, it's going to bother my perl scripts...

That's the Spirit: 9/18/01 - 009/25/01, misplaced zero...

04/27/04-05/04/04 - could use spaces around the hyphen.

Adaptation, closing date 11/8/01 should be 11/08/01
Don't Fix It, closing date 11/4/02

Oh, and on:

It's A shame My Binoculars Don't Work At Night

..."Shame" should be capitalized unless for some reason it shouldn't be.

That is all. I assume that the closing date for Postcard is an issue which has been much discussed already...

Start date for "The Wrong Girl" (currently being reviewed) shows as 1/1/05, should be 1/10/05.

Yes, and in fact, A shouldn't be capitalized. It should be, as I understand these things, 'It's a Shame My Binoculars Don't Work At Night.'

I heard (i think from fluffy) that song titles should have every word capitalised. But then he may have been trying to trick me since I know nothing.

Hmmm, I am basing this on The London Times Style Guide - specifically for poetry - but I don't think that song titles have a special exemption clause. A lyric is a lyric.

I am also being painfully provocative.

There are three rules for song title capitalization. The latter rules take precedence over the previous rules.

3. Capitalize all words except articles, coordinate conjunctions, prepositions that are shorter than four letters long, and to when it is used with a verb in the infinitive form.

2. Capitalize the first and last word.

1. Capitalize it how ever the hell the artist wants.
  • ie: mOBSCENE by Marilyn Manson, or [Crazy Insane Math Equation] by Aphex Twin.

We try to capitalize things the way we got them from Deep Throat.

Just making sure my note about the start date on "The Wrong Girl" didn't get lost in the discussion of my earlier comments on capitalization. If you click on the WG cover art on the front page, the archive-like page (with the full size cover art) shows 1/1/05 as the start date, and it should show 1/10/05. For some reason, my earlier posting about capitalization seems to have hijacked the thread...
