wow, everybody's too busy to share much today i guess.

so last night, i got to see ken's other super duper band (parker street cinema) at the cafe pergolesi, a santa cruz institution, and man, these guys seriously rocked the house! i had no idea. these guys could give the supercar a run for their money, a great live show with tremendous energy. and it was great to hang out with ken and meet his bandmates kevin and brian. they basically played in what amounted to a living room in an old victorian but it was an enthusiastic crowd.

and man it was loud.

question of the day: what do you think of the question of the day?

qotd: I give it an E for effort.

drc: Finally got my apartment actually clean! Also had to wipe my network routers and reconfigure them because something got messed up in them but they seem okay now.

QOTD: It makes me think about something that's not on my mind, so it is pretty cool. I tend to obsess on my issues at hand, but the question of the day pulls me out of my head for a little bit. Of course, sometimes it just gives me one more thing to obsess over. :P

DRC: Damn, I really want to check out Ken's band now.

QOTD: I think it's almost the question of yesterday - but it'll work.

The fam's been sick - so we lounged around some more today - watched some movies - did some more fawming. When I finish mixing what I'm doing now, I'll have 12 done. I'll get 14 done, but I'm not so sure about the half.

With a wet-nap or what?
(Confusion potential, due to unfortunate construction)

O-ho! I mean, my stupid Buffalo routers stopped working right and I thought they died but after I wiped their configurations clean and rebuilt them they were fine. I hope this doesn't become a regular Thing with them since it's not like I've had them that long.

QotD: Well, depends on who's asking and what it is.

On the one hand--gives us a good chance to know the kind of people who are writing and playing the songs we get to hear every week (or so).

On the other hand--we then have to listen and put up with the kind of people who are writing and playing the songs we get to hear every week (or so).

So, good and bad I guess.

Ha, this is the first thing I thought to. It goes from '...actually clean! ... wipe my network routers...' and I was like, I didn't know that if you did that, that you'd be required to reconfigure them as well. I'd say next time, don't open them up first.

my router/wireless was acting weird the other day... the wireless couldn't connect, and the password to get into it wasn't working for some reason. then talking with my friend we realized that there had been a power outage, and decided to check to see if it had reverted to the default settings. yes, it had. bizarre. did you have a power outage?

No power outage, and anyway both of them are on a UPS. I still don't know what was going on. The thing is that the configuration LOOKED fine but things didn't start working again until I shut everything down, completely wiped the settings, and built everything back up again.

I just unplug my modem and router, then plug them back in. That always fixes my connection. I should get a job with the Geek Squad and profit from my l33t skills.

I had to reset my router recently ("wipe it", as it were) and set it up from scratch as well, in order to get my webcam working again. Like BLT, the unplug and replug trick usually works, but not this time.

My stupid router will not route my webcam. It just won't. I've got other port forwards set up... but for some reason it just won't stream my media server. I thought maybe it was the ISP, so I bypassed the router to test it. Worked fine, not the ISP. Put it back behind the router...no go. (Crappy Toshiba)
