Won't You Come Home Prince Harry

So the prince wants to go to war. They agree to send him in there, but the military and the media agree to not report it. Then someone breaks the 'news embargo', and the military pulls him out for safety reasons.
Here's the cnn.com story.
Here's my take: The kid is a risk. That's no reason to squelch the truth. That's a terrible precedent (if you can even call it that; I don't have to be overly paranoid to assume this sort of thing happens a lot).
I've got my share of complaints about the media, but censorship will always be a bigger concern to me, especially when the government is involved. Maybe there are some things that simply 'shouldn't be reported'. Is this one of them?

yeah, this one is a pickle.
This one is more about media responsibility.
British army sticks a knight (pun intended) amongst a bunch of pawns. He is definitely going to be a larger target endangering everyone around him... so they make it a secret. This secret could be considered 'classified' but are we sure that 'who he is' is classifiable?
THEN... sure, why not...let the world know he's out there to be targeted. Protected by the media's freedom. Should they? Probably not...thats irresponsible. Should they? Sure, freedom is freedom right?
Don't allow him to go at all? WELL NOW... that will cause a whole 'favorable treatment issue". Or the whole 'rich kids don't have to go war' argument.
Pickle...yes.

I read about this in the paper at breakfast. I think the media was stupid to print this. It's his decision to go to war, and they're endangering his life by printing this. Some people have no common sense.

The hilarious thing about this story is that the rabid, mad-dog English tabloids seemed to have agreed to keep it all hush-hush - but the
story was broken world-wide by tawdry Australian women's magazine,
New Idea.
Anyway, ginger inbred twit wants to get his head blown off, and the heads of a lot of his poncey mates with him - good luck to him I say, should be more of it.

Station him at Fort Dix and let him fight for the US military. No one will know who the hell he is. He'll need to work on his Southern accent a bit first.

New Jersey? You're too kind, yo. Fort Jackson or Fort Leonardwood (sp?) at the very least. Or have him bored out of his mind killing ants @ Fort Huachuca, heh. Those fuckers are Insects of Mass Destruction.

I liked him in Afghanistan honestly. Its the more legitimate front if you ask me. (Next to Saudi Arabia which ... oh never mind we're not at war with them. Thats a whole separate thread right there.)

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAAH....no, that really takes the cake.
THREAD OVER.
YOU WIN.
I hate that whole face value monarchy myself. Wait, I'm sorry...isn't Charles in Charge (an old American TV show pun) of some gay battalion still? ha hahahahahha.
Go go Mr. Brown (formerly Mr. Blair)... lets stop pretending that The Queen has any more say than... Caravan Ray does.
