The Song Fight Bulletin Board

So it's a challenge to make any song in 30 days?

Or is there a title to work with? (Making it the equivalent of the "Song War")

there will be a title. i guess it will be like song war, which is a really coool name.

J$ has something like this I believe. I like the idea of more time to create a song and have often wished SF would incorporate it someday, instead of outside sites popping up. Because the need is defiantly there.

By the way Chris, the paragraph, "For the next 30 days, you listen to the songs in the fight and vote for youR favorite song." is missing an "R".

I like the idea. I suppose you'll be hosting the songs on your website - my first instinct was to jump in and offer radnoise as a place to run it, but I noticed you're also doing this to get experience running a website, which is alright with me.

But as a suggestion, I think people will get bored with one title for a whole month. I'd personally offer up a few concepts at the start of the month, and people can write however many songs they want for their chosen concept. If they want to write one song for each concept, go for it. If they want to write three for one, that's alright too.

If you're not too sure about this idea, I might snatch it up for radnoise. If you want it, take it - I'll probably participate either way.

I like the songfight week for writing the song and getting a demo done. Then I always have trouble redoing it with all the feedback and some time passes to think through the production elements. Perhaps a combo fight?

I read your site and it sounds like if this becomes ongoing there would only be a sonsg every other month. So APril is writing and recording, May is listening and voting, June is writing and recording, July is listening and voting.....

Is that correct?

Why would you do that?

I apologize if I am the one who threw a wet towel on this. I did not mean to imply that it was a bad idea, just that it hadn't worked out so well the last time, for whatever reason. I think it is a reasonable idea to examine what has been done before, see what went wrong, and try to improve upon it, rather than ignore it and repeat the same mistakes.
